This site is dedicated to provide localizations: developers (or their representative) upload their extension(s) using the Web Translation System (WTS), then people around the world apply the "concept" of the localization!

For all nations which don't have English as national language it is very important to have their locale included in the official author's build, because if a user looks for an extension in big web sites such as addons.mozilla.org or addonsmirror.net and so on, (s)he will find the extension in his language immediately.
Moreover, if the locale is not included in the official build, the user will find XUL errors if (s)he updates the extension with Firefox (or Thunderbird or another Mozilla application) automatic update.
Because of this fact, we decided to start a world project, named BabelZilla, with the goal to internationalize the extensions!
Thus we contribute to spread open source applications worldwide.

The process for a localization is really simple and normally its application is composed of three steps:
1) A literal human translation is made.
2) The extension is manually repackaged and the human translation is checked (here or in the various National Portals).
3) Various improvements and/or corrections noticed during the second (or of testing) phase are applied to the first human literal translation.

Moreover, if developers need a specific locale, they can look in BabelZilla's list of translators for someone who can provide it.

If you have any questions about the Web Translation System (WTS), then please visit our Help - Q & A section. Our Help - Q & A section is in English and other languages.
