smile.gif French translation is in proofreading/test phase. Some observations while testing

In manage_activities.js on lines 83, 90, 92, the strings Disabled, Default and Enabled should be localized too (the needed variables are already in the properties files) so that they could appear in translated versions in the tree cells.

also category names (such as Map, Translate...) remain in English, but I suppose it comes from the Activity that has been downloaded so there cannot be translation on the fly smile.gif

- A nice extension anyway rockon.gif

My apologies for the translation mistakes in 0.6. I just wasn't paying attention.

0.7 should have all the issues that were found fixed including one dialog that wasn't translatable.

Note the string "Display Activity button on selection" in activities.dtd is not used yet.

Dutch locale updated, tested and released cool.gif

Although the strings Goofy mentioned are indeed localized they initially display unlocalized, and after disabling and enabling them they are localized. Please look into this. Also, the categories are not localized, but that may be set by adding the activity as Goofy suggested. Any way to fix that? Oh , and yes, please localize the description.

markh, Please check mine version, but first compare your locale with original. Take attention to ':' sign. Types of categories are taken from server.

Partly works teo. I have changed prefs.js a bit in order for the localized description to work, and I would keep the ‘:’ in the locale strings as some languages insert a space in front of the colon and other languages (like mine) don't. In your version there is no space, but there needs to be one in e.g. French. For this purpose I had to change addprovider.xul a bit. I have recoded all xul and js files (and chrome.manifest) to UNIX on the fly, as they were coded as DOS files (with dtd and properties files coded as UNIX) - it worked though, so there were no visible problems. But it saves a couple of bits.

Thanks markh. The same phrases are use in the list of activities window and in the add activities window. Good version for all languages will be with eg. 'Name' and 'Name:' entities. Your solution is good for your language, but not good for most of languages. Now we have to inform author. I sent to him emails, but without any answer.

The entities are already split up in my adaptation.
From addprovider.xul:
CODE
                    <row>
                        <label value="&name.label;"/>
                        <label id="name" value=""/>
                    </row>
                    <row>
                        <label value="&from.label;"/>
                        <label id="from" value=""/>
                    </row>
                    <row>
                        <label value="&webAddress.label;"/>
                        <label id="webaddress" value=""/>
                    </row>
                    <row>
                        <label value="&type.label;"/>
                        <label id="type" value=""/>
                    </row>

From manage_activities.xul:
CODE
<treecol primary="true" label="&nameColumn.label;" flex="4"/>
            <splitter class="tree-splitter"/>
            <treecol label="&addressColumn.label;" flex="2"/>
            <splitter class="tree-splitter"/>
            <treecol label="&categoryColumn.label;" flex="1"/>
            <splitter class="tree-splitter"/>
            <treecol label="&statusColumn.label;" flex="1"/>

teo: sorry, I'm not understanding. The colons are in the DTD files now, aren't they? So translators can do what they want?

As this was a ‘joint effort’ I suppose I could answer that as well: yes.

I'm looking at the changes, and they are mainly about moving stuff around? There are no changes to DTD files?

I'm sorry, I'm really not understanding what the point of the changes were?

I realize I didn't do the description translation, but what was the point of the other changes to the XUL?

OK, I understand the change now, just don't understand why you want it:

http://www.xulplanet.com/ndeakin/item/12

By switching the text to a value instead of putting it inside the node, you lose line wrapping

Wouldn't you want line wrapping?

This change was made intentional. This attribute is much simpler and rendered in one line. For what use wrapped attributes when phrases are short and have enough place? Now you can use other attributes such as control or accesskey.
