Just a few information for you: in case you have some curiosities about the WTS, you may find here short and simple Questions&Answers about it! In case you're looking for some specific translator, please see the list of the available translators on BabelZilla. Selected that desired one, you may send him a P.M. or an e-mail (if and when public). You may also insert a new Topic in the Help Section, in order to ask for specific translations, to write a general request about missing translations, etc. -------------------- ![]() E' meglio tacere ed essere, che dire e non essere (Ignazio, II sec. d. It wasn't until I uploaded this extension to babelzilla that I realised just how may.dtd files and lines there actually were, in particular a few repetitions between some files. As a translator, do you think it would be better to combine all dtd's into one file??

myahoo/jojoba, Pardonner le poteau anglais:
It was not until I uploaded to babelzilla that I realised just how many files and translations needed there were, in particular quite a few repitions, eg 'title' in four of the .dtd files. As translators, do you think it would be better to try and reduce the number of .dtd files; maybe to just 1, or is better to keep some seperate so that you can see the context of the translation needed? |

In some languages the same word in English must be translated in different words according with the context and the type of label then I think this repetition of entities is the best way for the Italian translation

It was not until I uploaded to babelzilla that I realised just how many files and translations needed there were, in particular quite a few repitions, eg 'title' in four of the .dtd files. Or 'URL'... Just a little question by the way. Sometimes you wrote 'title', sometimes 'title:', same for 'URL' and other items. Is that wanted or did you forget the ':' ? -------------------- |

Hi Tony,
The Italian translation has almost finished. I have only one string to complete but I am not able to understand it. Can you give me some link and some instructions to understand it? The entity is... CODE When you hold down the ctrl key during a drag and drop address, the above string is appended to the end. This is useful if you are on a webpage that is specific to an area and thus only lists the street address I have some little request for complete the translation... In the geooverlay.js at the lines n° 50... CODE menuItem.setAttribute("label", 'Map Tab: Locate "' + selectedText + '"'); ... 51... CODE menuItemB.setAttribute("label", 'Map Sidebar: Locate "' + selectedText + '"'); ... 57... CODE menuItem.setAttribute("label", 'Apri in nuova scheda'); ... and 58... CODE menuItemB.setAttribute("label", 'Apri nella barra laterale'); In the file maps.js at the line 905... CODE var gadd = prompt("Address","eg: 100 View Street, Mountain View"); In the file mapsprefs.xul at the line 8... CODE title="Maps Options" In the file maptab.xul at the lines 188... CODE <hbox flex="0" ><spacer flex="1" /><label value="Addresses" style="font-size: 14px"/><spacer flex="1" /></hbox> ... 218... CODE <hbox flex="0" ><spacer flex="1" /><label value="Directions" style="font-size: 14px"/><spacer flex="1" /></hbox> ... 270... CODE <hbox flex="0" ><spacer flex="1" /><label value="KML/GeoRSS" style="font-size: 14px"/><spacer flex="1" /></hbox> I also noticed that the Platial functions isn't working.... should I log in to the service before? The last question is about some function I translated but I can't find in the extension. eg. the controls dimensions. I suspect it is because I am on Linux but I think is possible that I will see it in the future version. Can you confirm this? Please excuse me for all this request and have a nice day1 Bye bye Pedro -------------------- |

Hi Pedro,
Will add the js strings to the .properties files, and correct the others. Thanks for the spot :-) T. |

I also noticed that the Platial functions isn't working.... should I log in to the service before? Hmm, it seems Platial have changed their site quite a lot since I last visited. I may well have to remove them from the extension as at first glance it doesn't seem as easy as it used to be to pass locations through their url. T. |

I suspect it is because I am on Linux but I think is possible that I will see it in the future version. Can you confirm this? Are you refering to the addresslist height preference?? |

It might just list the street addresses, eg 123 High Street, 34 Other Street, 99 This Road etc If you set that preference string to "Rome", whenever you hold down the ctrl key when you drag and drop an address from that webpage it adds this "Rome" to the end. So drag and drop 123 High Street could be anywhere But ctrl + Drag and Drop would be 123 High Street Rome Hmm, that was a request from a user, don't use it much myself. Particularly a pain on my mac as I have to highlight, then drag then hold down ctrl before rdropping, otherwise it turns into a right click. T. |

I have just updated the extension on babelzilla to 0.1.4.8, which now inlcudes the 6 extra lines in the maps.properties files outlined by Pedro. I was able to deal with the other ones without the need for extra code as they were not effected by a different context.
Despite following the Q and A for updating extensions, the completion now shows 100% for IT, FR and NL, even though when you go into the actual file the boxes remain yellow to indicate that they are not 100%. I downloaded each file seperately, as detailed, but english was still in each dtd. I deleted the english and left blank, should I have deleted the <!entity bit as well?? Sorry about that :-( To help you out: it-IT: 6 lines in maps.properties, 1 line in mapsprefs.dtd fr-FR: 6 lines in maps.properties, 20 lines in minimap.dtd nl-NL: 6 lines in maps.properties, 14 lines in minimap.dtd Tony. PS. It seems platial have abandoned 'Today Nearby', and 'Places' is a bit patchy. Have taken out Today Nearby, but left in Places for now. |

Thanks Tony,
the faster correction I ever seen I think at the end of this translation you want to kill me but I find other two items to translate The first is the Close button of the Accuracy Level dialog in the aboutaccuracy.xul file; the second is in the manprefs.js in the defaults/preferencess folder and I think it will be difficult to solve: the sentence is Not Yet Set; QUOTE("tones") QUOTE("Pedro @ Aug 4 2007 @ 20:35") The last question is about some function I translated but I can't find in the extension. eg. the controls dimensions. I suspect it is because I am on Linux but I think is possible that I will see it in the future version. Can you confirm this? Are you refering to the addresslist height preference?? The functions I am not able to find are in the embed.dtd and embedKml.dtd files. Specifically are: Maptype Controls, Controls, None, Mini, Small and Large It's all. I promise you I stop ask for changes Thanks in advance again Bye bye Pedro -------------------- |

That was an error on my part, should have been : after all of them. T. Thanks for the reply. Found a little mistake in english locale, minimap.dtd file : minimap.kml.label Drop KML/GeoRSS Link or manuualy add using the toolbar button. Select item and Right-click to Edit/Delete should be : Drop KML/GeoRSS Link or manualy add using the toolbar button. Select item and Right-click to Edit/Delete -------------------- |
