Just for the records:
Downloaded it, too, and am currently preparing the German locale.
Lets hope that the author will be open minded about those adjustments....

maxVersion values are checked against the pref app.extensions.version, so you don't need to change them to stuff like 1.0.6, these will only (usually) be changed for major releases (1.0, 1.5, 2.0).

The italian locale is ready. smile.gif

I have added in this version the japan locale made by victory! tongue.gif

A little answer...how to contact the authors? huh.gif

Every translator send to him a message? Or why not contact him as "babelZilla translators" and ask to him to contact us here?
Here he can find all the localizations he needs! tongue.gif

Of course I already sent a message to the author's team ( address to be found here :
http://bookmarkshome.mozdev.org/members.html ) mentionning our new siteand inviting them to take part. I am still waiting for the answer.

@Cusser
thank you Cusser for your precision about maxversion, developper's help is precious for me because I am very ignorant about real code work and specifications.

Now that I think of it, it would be very interesting for us to know more about what will change for extensions with the coming versions of FF. There is probably some useful links you can give ? thanks !

The addition of chrome.manifest to XPI files is probably the biggest change you'll need to learn about: Chrome Registration - Devmo

Ok, so I'm now adding the German locale to the list....
I've only attached the locale folder as a zip, as I think it doesn't make much sense that any contributor is adding a repacked xpi here.

Perhaps we ought to find some systematics for the future. I think the bundeling of all delivered locales should be the task of one person responsible, so mostly the author or, in this case, Goofy.
I also propose that authors should give a test version to all contributors before the final release in order to avoid some of the problems which occurred in the past with corrupted or misplaced locale files.

Concerning this point:
QUOTE
* changed the maxversion to 1.0.6 to make it work on my system, but don't know if it is a good idea. If someone cantell me.

As 1.0.6 matches 1.0, what should be the reason for deliberatly downgrading maxVersion compatibility from 1.0+ to 1.0? blink.gif

@ Cusser
Thank you again , we shall add this link to our translator's kb...

@victory : thank you for your contribution smile.gif and welcome here.
I am afraid few of us can check your japanese translation.
Small details I noticed :
- on string to translate in startup.html line 50
- another one in bookmarksHome.html line 96
+ change the lang attribute to ja (at the top of the page)

@pedro : thanks for your job too (and for my avatar ;-)
- change the lang attribute for it in the bookmarksHome.html file.

I attach here the various locales up to now
I suggest you just attach your zipped locale if you have a new one or a modified one (?)

I agree in all points smile.gif

I think we'll have to use some guidelines.

We have now en/fr/it/de/ja/nl locales !
- Is there any translator from Spain here biggrin.gif ? Xanivars, maybe with catalan ? smile.gif

(- no news from the authors up to now sad.gif )

For Aviary extensions the maxversion should be 1.0 you only need to use 1.0+ for DeerPark.

Good to know !
As for BookmarksHome extension, the original maxversion of the last release was 1.0+, so I put it back as it was ;-)

Actually updateURL is :

CODE
<em:updateURL>http://downloads.mozdev.org/bookmarkshome/update.xml</em:updateURL>

and in http://downloads.mozdev.org/bookmarkshome/update.xml, there is

CODE
<em:updateLink>http://downloads.mozdev.org/bookmarkshome/bookmarkshome1.2.8.xpi</em:updateLink>

If someone downloads the extension here and the author doesn't yet include all locales, it might cause problems for next release... I'm wrong ?

Maybe should we put a fictive address in updateURL until the author includes all locales.
What do you think about that ?

You are right.
But it must be clear that here on BabelZilla we do NOT release more-or-less-modified-extensions ! This is not a site for publishing extensions but to enhance collaboration between extensions authors and translators.

* @ Fenian, Jooliaan---- suggestion for BabelZilla "rules"
I think it is important we must clearly indicate to BabelZilla members that extensions posted here are NOT for public release, but for working purpose only, as long as they are not validated by the author

Once the author is satisfied with the proposed locales, he/she can decide to make a new official release (and it is his responsability to adjust the update file version).

And finally every "national" portal (extensions.geckozone, extenzilla.it, erweiterüngen.de, etc.) can publish and comment the new version so that the final user can enjoy it, and update it some other day without breaking the locale (since it will be published with updated locales included, that is the ideal process at least)

I am not sure I am right describing this, so add your comments about that if you feel like doing it, but please in this place : http://babelzilla.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=13 cool.gif
