I don't mean to hijack this thread, but when you all are done translating DTA!, could you take a look at aria2 (GPL, unix/win). I've worked on the DTA! English text, and this tool also deals with downloading so I'm thinking people translating this would be good to work on that as well smile.gif

aria2 is a command line downloader & only has a few translations: English, French, German, Japanese, and Russian. The strings are in English and need to be translated. Goofy says: "For potential translators' information, there are 234 strings to translate, most of them related to downloading process, settings, error messages and all that. Nothing too difficult for extension translators."

It uses PO files which can be edited with poedit. The PO files are inside the archive under the po directory. The latest release is 0.11.2 at http://aria2.sourceforge.net/ or http://downloads.sourceforge.net/aria2/aria2-0.11.2.tar.bz2

The original thread is at:

Was already reported by teo and fixed on trunk.
(You may test against a Nightly build)

Please tell us about the typos ;)

Ok, sorry for the encoding issue report, i noticed the latest screenshots by teo and i thought it was fixed and broken again :D

Manager.properties file corrections:
String verifyerrortext
The checksums of the download didn't match.\nThis means the download is corrupt or compromised, unless the provided checksum was bad in the first place.\nTherefore, it is recommended not to use the downloaded data.\n\nWhat would you like to do with the downloaded file?

String deletetexts
Are you sure you want to delete the following files?

Sring deletetextl
Are you sure you want to delete %S files?

I'm not sure about the following two, perhaps they sound bad to me because the greek translation of those strings is different.
String complete
Completed

String cdownloads
Completed downloads: %S of %S

There's another small issue with the english text.. in common.dtd the string start.label reads :"Queue!"
The shortcut is also "q" so i think it's a terrible mixup..
I don't know if you want to confuse users but i'll translate that button to "start" again, just like as it was before the last update.
Plus, as teo allready reported, the add URL window is way too long, i'd recommend to display the desc.batches.value string (addurl.dtd)
in a seperate row in order to avoid that.

Both variations seem valid to me?! But then again my English is pretty lousy tongue.gif

Actually there were quite a few users irritated by this.
The button will queue the download instead of starting it immediately (what "Start" would suggest).
So IMO "Queue" is actually the more appropriate term, isn't it?

IMHO it would be the more apropriate term IF there was a "start" button as well.
Since there's no such button, users will be confused since it will seem that they can only queue the download instead of starting it.
Btw, i can't see the meaning of it since at least in the version which i tested it does start the download instead of putting it in queue.

Anyway, if you want me to change the translation for that string please tell me so and i'll do it ASAP.

Actually lets say your queue already includes 100 downloads and you have configured to retrieve, say, 4 download in parallel at a time.
Then Adding another view the button in question will only put the download to the end of the queue and it will start only after all the other downloads are finished.
That's what I mean it is better to have it saying queue, because start would indicate it starts immediately.

Another option would be not to use Start or Queue at all and simply say "Add" (and "Add paused").
What do you think about this?

About the start/queue button...

We need to use something that represents the idea "I've finished, go on". "Start" is good enough, but, as Maierman says, the downloads are actually queued. On the other hand, "Queue", even if it's more appropriate, doesn't represent the idea.
So, I think we could use the standard "Ok", which gives the right idea and doesn't mean that the dowloads will start right after the click.
What do you think?

For time reasons the work with the danish translation has changed from SPIRI to me. To get the last things in order I need a little help from an administrator to get SPIRI removed as translator. I have talked to SPIRI about it, but he can't figure out how to remove himself and doesn't have a lot of time to try and figure it out.

He cannot do it himself. I have switched your translator statuses, so you are now primary translator and SPIRI is secondary translator. wink.gif

I saw that the status was already on Testing/QA with only 78% finished; please check the locale files.

Thanks markh biggrin.gif

I know that the status is listed as "testing/QA" at less than 100%, but the work is still in progress (picking up the language of somebody else takes a little time) and it doesn't look like I can change the status to "in progress". Several files have a status of over 100% so that's a little strange too, but I have seen that before in WTS.

Hello,

Could any moderator add me as pt-BR translator for DownThemAll.

The translation is obsolete and its translator (messala) is not active since July 2006...

Thank you by the attention...

Hi there!
I've just uploaded an updated version of DTA, with some locales modifications. Yes, "start" is back. smile.gif

Please, check again your localization entirely!

Thanks,
