There's already an extension closing windows to the tray called MinimizeToTray, does this one do something else than the other one (this is not meant to be offensive, I'm just curious)?

- EDIT -
Wait, is it just me or is it not working? tongue.gif

This extension is for Linux users only

It is somehow the Linux counterpart of MimizeToTray wink.gif

Oh, I see. Maybe you should include that in the extension's description?

I agree, I suppose it would help the other translators.

@ fsoltrash: hello Francesco smile.gif would you please add the Linux-only notation in the description?

Another little matter: could you please localize the description?

Thank you for having landed here smile.gif

Hi, I just localized the description and modified it to reflect its linux-only destination.
I've seen that updating the extension on WTS changed all translator names to Unknown translator. Is it normal or I've done something wrong?

Hmmmh there does not seem to be anything wrong with the xpi unsure.gif ; this usually happens when the locales are not declared in chrome.manifest, but they are there so it should have worked. Have you seen any error messages while updating?

If I remember well, it said "Failed" in "Looking for existent translations".
Looking in the WTS it shows the existing localization files (not at 100% a I added a string) but not the translator names.

Strange. Did you perhaps try it several times, with one of the previous times accidentally removing the locales? I cannot think of anything else. If it happens again in the future, please make a screenshot and post it here, so that we can analyze it.

I have re-registered the existing translators based on the information in install.rdf (fortunately you are one of the few who actually list translators in that file happy.gif).

Hello Francesco,

I saw you updated your extension with a good Thunderbird support - thanks smile.gif

I saw a possible bug: upon invoking the command "Exit", both Firefox and Thunderbird give me this error:

I'm using Debian Testing (Lenny)

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; it; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12

Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 (X11/20080213)

Bye smile.gif

Simon

P.S. Another small matter: the string

CODE
<!ENTITY firetray.start_min "Start Firefox minimized">

should perhaps be

CODE
<!ENTITY firetray.start_min "Start the program minimized">

since now fits both the applications (and why don't extend it to Sunbird, too)? wink.gif

Thank you for testing... (we really need some feedback from users, expecially for the new thunderbird unread mail feature)
Yes, I noticed that right after submitting the extension to the WTS. I already corrected the problem in the svn but I wanted to wait until the official release of 0.1.8 version to reupload it on the WTS.

Yes, you're right, I will correct it.

Potentially the application should work on any recent mozilla application, all I have to do is to include icons and application ids.
Do you know if by including those applications' icons I could infringe the mozilla licence?

Hello,

I downloaded the version 0.1.8 from AMO and I noticed two "oddities":

1) The options window in Thunderbird is too big - but this is easily a problem with another extension beacause on another profile of mine it doesn't happen

2) The option "Close button minimizes to tray" is not working in Thnunderbird - at least it does not work on either of my profiles (Debian Testing)

I wanted also bring another particular to your attention: I see on Thunderbird I get notification of unread messages. The problem is that more often than not, spam mail is not mark as read. So, if I don't mark junk mail as read, the icon reports unread messages in the spam folder.
As a request for enhancement, I'm asking you if the spam folder could be excluded from the unread messages control.

As a second rfe, could you add the access keys for all the three options? In the current version there are only two and they are not configurable.

Thanks, as usual, and sorry to bother you... blush.gif wink.gif

I think that the problem with the options window could be caused by the application you were mentioning as in all the tests I've done it (ff, ff3, tb, swiftweasel, swiftdove) showed up correctly.

I can confirm the problem number (2). I noticed that some days ago, I'm still investigating but at the moment I came at the conclusion that it could be a TB bug as it isn't generating the window.onclose event as it should be. I will file a bug report when I'm sure about that.

Passing to the unread spam question, I will modify it in the next versions, in the meanwhile you can set "mark spam as read" in the preferences. (I already did that, so I didn't notice the problem )

For the access keys I thought I already did... maybe they got lost in the localization process... I will look at it.

One of the "side effects" of the BabelZilla community is the heavy testing phase which involves not only the localization process but all the features of extensions... wink.gif

Bye

Don't know if there are copyright laws protecting these icons. Maybe someone more inside the matter could give you this answer. If Goofy is reading this topic, maybe he can point you to the right persons to ask to.
