Additional notes to translators. In my .dtd file I use cascading entities e.g.
CODE
<!ENTITY xsidebar.title               "xSidebar">
....etc....
<!ENTITY xsidebar.prefs.main.title     "&xsidebar.title; - General">
In the second entity "&xsidebar.title;" comes from the first entity, the combination creates the final string as "xSidebar - General". So in general please do not translate nested entities, unless the grammar of your language necessitates that you restructure the sentence.

Cheers.

Phil

In the WTS Q&A I see this:
QUOTE
How to insert a standalone SeaMonkey extension ?

You can't do it alone !
Standalone SeaMonkey extensions can't be automatically added to WTS.
It's possible to add them only manually, therefore you have to contact the Admin Team via Private Message or via email
But I seem to have uploaded xSidebar sucessfully through the automatic WTS upload. Perhaps this bit of info could be updated?

Cheers.

Philip: I tested the Spanish locale with English Seamonkey + Spanish language pack XPI and it worked OK, so I have released it.

If instead of using en-US Seamonkey Windows installer + Spanish XPI, I use es_ES Seamonkey Windows installer, xSidebar does not work (even with en-US locale).

The official Spanish translator for Seamonkey said that the latest es-ES language pack corrects several errors compared to the version in the es_ES Seamonkey 1.0 installer. He has suggested that I ask you to install the latest es_ES langpack into your es-ES Seamonkey.

Cheers.

Phil,
I tested it, and it works ... more or less (usina a workaround).

If I install es-ES Seamonkey I cannot install es-ES XPI pack - Seamonkey shows a installation error and does not allow it, and really if you think about it, it seems logical.

But I have installed en-US Seamonkey, installed es-ES XPI Pack and xSidebar, then uninstalled en-US Seamonkey - but without deleting my profile folder - and then installed es-ES Seamonkey; apparently the new installation uses the es-ES XPI pack and xSidebar extensions already present in the profile and everything works OK (es-ES Seamonkey + es-ES XPI + xSidebar). It is easy, isn't it?

The only problem would appear if I wanted to create a new profile: I should repeat all the former process again.

xSidebar 0.0.20060601 released with yet more strings to translate.

According to somebody on mozilla.dev.apps.seamonkey, what I need to do to solve these problems is to add:
chrome:name="xx-YY" to each of the locale's contents.rdf
e.g.
CODE
<?xml version="1.0"?>

<RDF:RDF xmlns:RDF="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#"
         xmlns:chrome="http://www.mozilla.org/rdf/chrome#">

    <RDF:Seq about="urn:mozilla:locale:root">
        <RDF:li resource="urn:mozilla:locale:en-US"/>
    </RDF:Seq>

    <RDF:Description about="urn:mozilla:locale:en-US" chrome:name="en-US">
        <chrome:packages>
            <RDF:Seq about="urn:mozilla:locale:en-US:packages">
                <RDF:li resource="urn:mozilla:locale:en-US:xsidebar"/>
            </RDF:Seq>
        </chrome:packages>
    </RDF:Description>

</RDF:RDF>

I hope that this actually solves the problem, I have no way of testing at the moment.

Dear Phil,

I had the possibility to test it by installing the last version of xSidebar (I've obviously created more than one new SeaMonkey profile). It works!!! rockon.gif
Thanks

I'm not sure why the ar locale is showing up (multiple times yet) as I don't have it in my RDF file. Also it looks like it's actually the Spanish locale.

Hi Phil,

I've just asked for a 'tech explanation' to our so lovely Tech Admin Fenian, who removed the "ar" locales.
In case you 'need' the details feel free to send a PM directly to Fenian! wink.gif

Uh-oh. New upload, and my locale was still on 'Testing/QA'. And the files are on my other PC.

Oh well, it'll have to wait until tomorrow unsure.gif
