@ translators

Two observations about the properties file
1. Keep in mind that in the present state of the extension, the very first letter of each command will be automatically set as "command key", so you must be careful to have different first letters for your translated command words. This is how it is diplayed in the extension help.
EDIT biggrin.gif With the last updated version, you have to determine which letter will be the command key for the aardvark function (this is process similar to accesskey setting).

Use the & (ampersand) special char

Howto:

You just stick an & (ampersand) before the character you want for the key
example, if you choose to write
CODE
narro&wer

letter W will be capitalized in the help window and become the command letter fro the narrower function.

If you don't insert any ampersand, then by default, the very first letter of the word will be capitalized and command key.

Just like for accesskeys, you must not use twice the same letter in the commands list smile.gif

2. Once you have tested and released your translation, you have the opportunity to fill this aardwarkStrings.js file with the same translation as in your locale .properties file. Be careful when inserting strings not to spoil the javascript and embedded html, also stick to UTF-8...
Then you can attach it here on a post to be grabbed by the developer who will insert it in the Aardvark bookmarlet and make it international cool.gif

Hi Rob,

is it possible to use capital letters at the beginning of each line in the help box? It would look much better in german translation.

If I use a capital letters now, the keystrokes are not working.

Second, there is one string in aardvarkDBox.js (line 105) a.innerHTML = "select all";

Is it possible we can translate this?
Regards, Fux

Hungarian locale is tested and released. I attach aardvarkStrings.js, in UTF-8, too.

Well, if the HTML page itself is in utf-8, it is all right. Otherwise not. I'm going to send you another version with escaped characters (\uxxx), and maybe that'll work fine no matter what is the charset of the HTML.
(The extension is always correct.)

Here is the escaped version smile.gif , could you please upload it to your bookmarklet test server.
Thanks a lot in advance.
offtopic P.S.
Do you guys know some tool or a site with a service for escaping strings within a javascript? It is a tedious work to do it by hand. wacko.gif There is an extension for HTML encoding (Unicode Input Tool/Converter), but I couldn't get it to convert to javascript escape form.

smile.gif sure it was cache related. I modified the file, reuploaded only once at 15:15 then made the screenshot, that is all.

The extension is great, however the hotkey system is kind of a problem - I mean, it's great that it automatically generates the keys, but if you use two words that begin with the same letter it doesn't show any other but the first one in the help window.
