Thanks for being here!

In case you're looking for some specific translator, please see the list of the available translators on BabelZilla
Selected that desired one, you may send him a P.M. or an e-mail (if and when public)
You may also insert a new Topic in the Help Section, in order to ask for specific translations, to write a general request about missing translations, etc!

In case you have some curiosities about the WTS, you may find here short and simple Questions&Answers about it!

I've a 'request' for you: please, could you invite here the French and the Greek previous translators?
Thanks in advance
* * *

And now you have two Italian translators: me and Andrea! tongue.gif
Well, now I register as official translator and later Andrea will 'register' too

Hi guys,

Thanks for inviting me to this forum, it's good to be here.

I have two quick questions, related to each other. First, how many official translators can a locale have? Second, what is the etiquette for acknowledging the translators as contributors in install.rdf? Do people list all the translators and with what kind of information (name, etc.)? Is it customary to contact each translator and ask for this information or do translators put some information in the contents.rdf file of the locale?

MatrixIsAllOver, as for you request, I will contact the author of the French locale and invite him to join the forum. The Greek locale was written by me, although I would appreciate it if other translators could contribute to the Greek translation. Should I just add myself as a translator?

Hihi, there is no limit laugh.gif seriouslsy we have here extensions with more than 15 locales. The only possible problem is just the final size of it.

Some add their name in the contents.rdf file of their locale, but as you know, contents.rdf will slowly disappear now that we have chrome.manifest files.

generally, the author adds the contributors' lines in the install.rdf. See this example from addblock plus :

you can send them a PM
but you can also register you as the main greek translator and add one or two additional ones.

Of course the more locales an extension has, the better it is smile.gif, but I meant if there is a limit on the number of translators for a single locale. I think you answered my question at the end of your reply though.

So there can be at most 3 translators for each locale?

So if there is no information in contents.rdf, which names are used for each contributor? Should I use the username they have on this forum or should I ask them if they wish to use a different name?

smile.gif yes currently there can be up to three translators for each locale
smile.gif you can use nicknames provided here on the forum or ask translators what they prefer (sometimes real names, sometimes national team name added...)
There should be no problem with that, don't worry. smile.gif

Well, the localization that has been inserted is that one I proposed with the approval of Andrea, and its QA that has been carried out here is positive smile.gif
Because of this reason, I'm glad to write that the Italian localization is ready, available here
