current version is 1.1.0 please update here too No need to "update" as there is nothing to update. We will always upload a beta version here which hopefully should be string-complete, i.e. we don't expect any l10n related things to change. The final releases (1.1, 1.2 and so on) are then based on that beta, nothing changes in between. Point releases (1.1.x, ...) shouldn't be affected from any l10n related changes as well. We will add new locales and updates locales as they become available in each point release. If we mess up and there are indeed changes needed we will upload a new version and post a notification about what happened in this thread. |

New landing page.
We plan to add a new landing page to dTa 1.2+, replacing that "accept-or-uninstall" dialog. That page should feature some basic (video) tutorials as well as copyright/license/privacy notice/contacts. The current prototype is here: http://code.downthemall.net/about/1.2alpha/ If you're using a trunk nightly you may also access this page by: about:downthemall The page is neither layout nor content-complete (as you can obviously see). We plan to have this page fully localized. Therefore I just added a "stub" xml (about/index.xml) and a new DTD (landingpage.dtd). From the next trunk nightly on you may access the stub from here: chrome://dta/content/about/index.xml We plan to later produce the the localized online version using some xsltproc+apache multiviews magic. In fact the the current prototype is already produced in that manner. Seeking your feedback Are there any problems, technical or non-technical, you're aware of? What do you think of this idea in general? Do you have any suggestions for content? Or are you even willing to produce some content? We track this here: http://bugs.code.downthemall.net/trac/ticket/1114 |

We released DownThemAll! 2.0 beta 1 yesterday.
We'd like to invite you to look out for any potential l10n related issues, or even bad English phrases, so that we can sort out any problems before we finalize beta2 and upload it to babelzilla. Release notes and Download: http://www.downthemall.net/main/install-it...all-2-0-beta-1/ New about/landing page that will be displayed after upgrades: http://code.downthemall.net/about/2.0b2/ Texts on that page will be (almost) fully localized. Videos will not (too much of a maintainability burden) The l10n stub that you may later use to test your localizations can be found at (after dTa 2.0b1 is installed): chrome://dta/content/about/index.xml We recommend not to localize the extension at this point, just report any issues back, as strings may still change. Please file tickets for any issues you find with our bugtracker. Thanks in advance for any feedback! :D |

I just uploaded DownThemAll! 2.0b5pre.bz.
Unfortunately WTS has eaten all the strings that I tried to carry over... I pinged an admin about that. The source XPI containing these strings is at: https://code.downthemall.net/releases/downt...2.0b5pre.bz.xpi Remarks about translating DownThemAll! First of all, there is about:downthemall (also reachable via Tools/DownThemAll!/About) that not only gives hints on how to translate certain things, but also includes the strings for addons.mozilla.org and our new landing page. To quote some of about:downthemall QUOTE * We intent not to change any string within the 2.0 series. This already worked pretty well for the 1.1 time series. That is: there shouldn't be any changes in the point releases (e.g. 2.0.1, 2.0.10). * Please stick to the correct "spelling" of DownThemAll! * It is DownThemAll! not DOWNTHEMALL! or downTHEMall! * It is dTa not DTA or dta * DownThemAll! Manager will by default now use the "Icons" mode in the toolbar. Please make sure to check the texts as well, by right-clicking the toolbar and selecting text and icons. * Please adjust the preference window width (and maybe height). See prefpanes.dtd:winstyle. There is currently no way to autofit-resize the window automatically, so please choose decent values to avoid cutting-off parts of the window contents. * An often missed feature is Metalink support. Please make sure to test that dialog and your translations as well. Please check out some of the example metalinks. If you have any problems or need any assistance please don't hesitate to ask. |

It is strange that all locales have been emptied during the upload; that shouldn’t happen if the files are in the xpi. -------------------- |

I should have most of your work backup-ed. Admin told me to upload again because the last upload caused a DB error. Seems the new one also caused a DB error When the problem is fixed I'll upload again and your translations should reappear. Sorry for that inconvenience. Because of these problems everybody should hold of on translating for now, until the problem is fixed. Sorry for all the mess. |

Fenian just told me that we're good to go again. (Thanks to Fenian for working all afternoon long to fix the issue and restore locales)
I'll however refrain from re-uploading the XPI again... You never know. Happy translating. And again, please don't hesitate to message me upon any questions Serbian (sr) localization has disappeared also! I guess some of your efforts are unfortunately gone. On the bright side, Fenian restored the strings from the last version, meaning >50% of the strings should be there already. That's an improvement to not having any string carried over as was before. |

I would really appreciate it if you could prioritize translate landingpage.dtd.
Reason is, that the site that will be generated is already live and can be tested by the beta testers right now: https://about.downthemall.net/2.0/ Please message me once you finished translating landingpage.dtd, even if the rest of your locale isn't yet complete, so that I can generate the site including your locale. Thanks in advance |

landingpage.dtd is completed for el-GR.
Just a tiny issue: The official locale code for Greek, for all mozilla applications, is now "el" instead of "el-GR". This change has already landed on BabelZilla BUT i'm still working on el-GR for your extension until i complete the localization and transfer the files to the new locale folder. Your update caught me during moving to a new apartment so it might take me 2-3 days more before i'm done (I hope i wont miss the production deadline) but i think that in the meantime it's better to generate the server page for el instead of el-GR (though the default http accept headers will still include both el and el-GR in case you use them to determine the locale). PS There's a couple of references to "DownThemAll" (without the exclamation mark) in the English strings of the file. -------------------- Graecum est, non legitur

@ localizers and Nils:
The landingpage.dtd file contains the string "lp.tut.oneclickn" (After using the Clear Private Data feature in Firefox...). The wording for that feature and the dialog's title in Firefox has changed to "Clear Recent History" so I guess it should change in the file as well. Plus, there's at least one more string (lp.tb.add.p2) that should be edited to reflect the changes in the upcoming Firefox's 4 GUI for windows. IMHO, it's better to avoid the reference to Firefox's "View" menu when explaining how to add buttons on the toolbar and use "right-click on toolbar -> customize" instead, since that would work the same on all platforms. (I might be wrong on that last one, I don't have access on a windows box right now and i don't remember if the "view" menu is available directly in the new unified Firefox menu). -------------------- Graecum est, non legitur

And a (hopefully) last question:
The variable in "removebadmirrors.message" string ("Remove broken %S mirrors?" - mirrors.properties file) represents a number or a URL? I guess it's a number but i thought i'd ask to be on the safe side. ps Nils, greetings from mozilla summit's "smokers" group -------------------- Graecum est, non legitur
