One question about the .dat file that cannot be edited online. translators will have to download/edit/translate/upload, no problem. But what is the right encoding necessary for it ? UTF-8 ?
Thanks for the tip.

I've finished the bg-BG translation. Strangely though I can't seem to test it. Added the bg-BG to locale, added the stuff to install.rdf, changed 2-3 things in the info, but it just goes to English. If I just try to put bg-BG locale in en-US it just switches to German.

And by the way something awkward on the translation:
On some of us it shows 107% complete. The last file has string just like the third one, but with pauses before the text, so I added the pauses just in case. If it's a mistake please tell me, I'll fix it right away wink.gif

The problem: WTS for some reason strips half the .rdf file off when you upload... I fixed it by using my local edit instead.

I'm still not sure how this works, but the idea is pretty fabulous, and I could easily foresee an increase in danish users of Firefox with an extension like this one. smile.gif

I've attached the working rdf zipped up. Danish ready except that file.

Hi Boris,
I think this extension is very usefull for football fans biggrin.gif , but I can't see Polish league sad.gif I wrote about this PM to you.
Now I have some remarks about extension:
1. Make localize extension description.
2. 'Close' from about.xul file should be translated.
3. I made 2 changes in the options.xul file for better look. See included file.

Hi Goofy,

sorry for my delayed answer. I am new to the forum ... Of course I do highly appreciate the contributions of each translator - thanks a lot, guys!

The countries.dat file is supposed to be UTF-8 encoded (\uXXXX).

Cheers,
boris

In footiefox.properties file, ff.options.leagues.tabs.teams, ff.options.leagues.tabs.leagues, ff.options.leagues.tabs.alarm and ff.options.leagues.tabs.appearance entities are not translated.

Who is your previous Spanish translator?

Boris,

I completed the Dutch (nl-NL) translation (incl. countries.dat) and tested it. Everything works fine. Even the contents.rdf download/upload after changing en-US to nl-NL works OK (AlleyKat (dk-DK) reported an error on this).
Please add this translation in v. 1.0.3.

I got some question from Dutch users concerning their security. Could you explain here the process of updating the data? How?, servername, what information is send/received?, etc.

Alf

Now there is some connection with the server, I noticed that by using Countries=World and Leagues=Worldcup, the names of the teams (in fact the names of the countires) in the window with the results aren't the transtlated one's from countries.dat, but the original english names, because the teams.dat is used. The names of the countries are not translated in that file and appears as english text.
I think you should give the translators the possibility to translate the files: leagues.dat and teams.dat to correct the english names for their language.
Alf

Hi Boris,
I prepared my version of FootieFox based on 1.0.3. I made locale description, corrections in the about.xul, options.xul, footiefox.dtd and footiefox.properties files. You can see all in the included file.

hmm what a disapointment.. this one would be a great success if the worldcup function was working..
however it doesn't seem to be ..
just out of curiosity though, why do we have to translate the same strings in two different files?

EDIT--
My bad, it works actually..it just takes ages to do so..i guess the servers were quite busy when i tried smile.gif

Hi Alf,

we used web services first, so this means: the league ids were send to the server, and the server responded with the current matches for these leagues. As we have very many users at the moment, this turned out to be not performant at all. So we switched to static files. All extension receive the same information. We have no unique user ids we could track users with ... if that's your question.

Cheers, thanks for your help,

boris

Yeah, we rather should use the countries.dat for friendly games, too. For the team names, we decided to take the original names: AC Milano instead of AC Mailand (the German translation).

For the other international matches including national teams: Yes, I have this mind. But we've had other priorities such as smooth operation during the world cup.

Cheers,
boris

Hi boris,
I don't know why but the wts seems to cut down almost half of the country.dat file.
I tested the extension with files i translated localy so i didn't noticed it..sorry
Anyway, i attach here the file so you can use it (renamed to txt to bypass the upload restriction),

PS
Thanks for the extension, it beats joga by far smile.gif
