Hi Mateusz,

I'm working on the German version of Notify. Although I used a clean profile for testing, I noticed something weird: In the extensions windows, the describing string remains in the English original (see attached screenshot). Can you, or someone else, point me to where additional translation is needed (I translated all the files in the Web Translation System)?

In case you have some curiosities about the WTS, you may find here short and simple Questions&Answers about it!

In case you're looking for some specific translator, please see the list of the available translators on BabelZilla.
Selected that desired one, you may send him a P.M. or an e-mail (if and when public).

You may also insert a new Topic in the Help Section, in order to ask for specific translations, to write a general request about missing translations, etc.

it seems in the defaults.js file it has been used an ID different than that one present in the install.rdf file.
install.rdf -> notify@torino.pl
defaults.js -> pref("extensions.notify@gemme.pl.description", "chrome://notify/locale/notify.properties");

Try to replace in the defaults.js file the existing ID with that one present in the install.rdf!
It should work.

That was it, I uploaded corrected version (including Alf's work on nl-NL translation).

gemme is right, I didn't know about this great community until I accidentally saw the link to BabelZilla on the author's homepage of the Thunderbird extension 'Xpunge'.
I think it would be far better if it was placed prominently on https://addons.mozilla.org/ and maybe other extensions sites as well. Perhaps the people in charge there could be convinced of this procedure...

Your last upload caused all the translators to be 'unknown' (even the Polish ).
That means all the translators had to register themselfs to have controle over the translation again.
I'm not a tech, but it has something to do with the presence of the translations in your upload.
Maybe you can search the Q&A or ask a tech or moderator to explain this to you.

That's correct, as you has read in the first linked Q&A you need to update also the install.rdf and/or the chrome.manifest file before uploading an updated version.
At the moment this is a manual procedure to do, but it has been added to the "to do" list.

I am now the official French translator of your extension and i have reviewed the translations.

I have passed the status to Released.

Just for information, i renote my email with your answer updated :

It is not for every pages. If the load is quick, i see nothing.
On the sites were the loading seems to be looping at the end, the message stays.

this is no strange bug but Unix operating system birthdate, a "zero" point for the system clock

Here is an exemple of site that gives a message staying in the status bar (Dernière modification : Lundi 4 Septembre 2006) : http://assiste.free.fr/

Switch the tab to go on another Web site, without doing nothing on the page of Assiste, the message had disapeared when i go back to this tab !

Croatian locale has been tested and released

Just uploaded a new version.
Thougth I updated all files correctly, again the upload caused all the translators to be 'unknown'. Translators are listed in the install.rdf file (see online: http://notify.torino.pl/s/0.91/install.rdf.html ).

It didn't change.

After upload, I saw "Scanning for existing locales" status was Failed.
Maybe it didn't unpack chrome/Notify.jar before searching for chrome/locale/* files?

I have made the following mail to Gemme without reply :

When i start Firefox (1.5.0.7 or 2.0 beta 2 or RC 1), i encounters often times a strange problem : i hear the noise of notify but see a web page for him.
Some time at start, 2 windows are opened :
-the first one with only the title bar
-a second one looking normal but without the shortcut bar.
Closing the 2 FF windows and restarting FF solves the problem.
Note that i use the Tab Mix Plus extension (last build) configurated to work with only one window and several tabs.

Another problem i have is that i monitor pages that are secured, so i have to be connected on the site web to have a result and it is not possible at Firefox starting.

My solution for these 2 problems will be to have an option to delay with several minutes (the number would be another option) the first scan for notify to work. (zero can be the default as today)
Can you create a new version with these options ?
