In case you have some curiosities about the WTS, you may find here short and simple Questions&Answers about it!

In case you're looking for some specific translator, please see the list of the available translators on BabelZilla.
Selected that desired one, you may send him a P.M. or an e-mail (if and when public).

You may also insert a new Topic in the Help Section, in order to ask for specific translations, to write a general request about missing translations, etc.

Communication of service

It seems there is something strange inherent to the link for the WTS.
It should be fixed soon thanks to our Tech Admins.

Meantime, please be patient!
TIA

Yes it is fixed, thanks dear Fenian smile.gif

Thunderbird failed to load the NokSync DLL. The may mean that some library dependencies are missing.

@translators: I am afraid testing phase will be difficult. This extension is windows-only and needs the installation of a nokia pc suite beforehand (not mentionning the need of a Nokia cellular phone rolleyes.gif )

Dear Goofy and others,

You are absolutly right, testing will need a Nokia PC Suite as well as a NOKIA phone!
Any suggestion about where I can post this information so it is immedatly clear to translators?

Dear translators of NokSync,

Thanks to ghandi2 and StiffeL for the translations.
A few more translations seems to be forthcoming, then I will test and include in the next version.

In addition to the extension itself, it would be really nice to have a translation of the manual as well.
The manual is here: http://www.kaarposoft.dk/noksync/manual.html and the source for it here: http://noksync.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/.../dox/manual.dox

If you translate this file, please post it as a patch at http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_id=1...amp;atid=910210

1) Does anyone have an idea on how to "get" such a file translated on BabelZilla? As it is not an "official" part of the NokSync extension, it is obviously not included "by default" in NokSync.

2) Does anyone have an idea on how to point translators's attention to the fact that a translation of this file would be, if not required/necessary, at least very nice to have?

Once again, thank you to all translators.
I am just a humble extension developer, overwhelmed by the interest in translating "my" extension.

Rgds,
Henrik (the original extension author)

Credits smile.gif

When I include translations in "my" extension, I would like to give credit to the translators.

Does anyone know how to do that, since all I have is their username on BabelZilla - no full name, no email, nothing...

Rgds,
Henrik

smile.gif For these requests you are on the appropriate topic, but you can duplicate them on the more general "Help section" here : http://www.babelzilla.org/forum/index.php?showforum=7

We frequently have to translate some help.html pages included in extensions. In your case, you are suggesting to use a "dox" system which seems a bit complicated at first sight (well I am so goofy, really). Is is compulsory to use it or is it possible to send an html page in another language ?

QUOTE

There is no real rule about that, some translators prefer to be credited with their nickname, others by their full name and mail or their national portal...
They will just tell you here on this topic what they prefer.

If you look at http://noksync.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/...dox?view=markup you will see that "the dox system" (actually doxygen) is is just a simpler version of HTML.

I see no problem in translators providing the translated HTML page instead, but (I am such a programmer, really biggrin.gif ), I think translators would have no problem with the Doxygen format. Really. Have a look at the source.

But the primary question is: how to make translators aware that something has to be translated in addition to the extension itself??? ... and where would they post it ?

You are just here on the best visible spot to awaken hibernating translators about one missing part to be translated. As suggested above, you can also post a new topic on the Help forum. Html files cannot be translated online on the WTS, but we usually just attach them to a post on the dedicated extension topic.

Yes I see the dox source is very near to html source so you are probably right about its easiness. Some translators may prefer translate with a wysiwyg html editor anyway, because we can concentrate on strings to translate only without having to slalom amidst a jungle of tags and attributes laugh.gif

All translators of NokSync please look here:

The extension has a manual page at the NokSync homepage.

It would be much appreciated if you could translate this manual page as well.

You can either
smile.gif translate the source file (preferred)
or
unsure.gif translate the HTML page (if this is easier for you)

When done, you can either
rolleyes.gif submit the file as a patch on SourceForge
or
unsure.gif attach the file to a post on this forum.

Thank you very much in advance to all translators!

/Henrik

just some ideas & questions:
1. please also put the request for translation of the manual in the first post of this thread, that way, anyone who starts a translation & checks the discussion thread will see it
2. a question: in preferences: "Int Pref Value: %d", which word requires translation here? i did this for Norwegian: "Int Pref Verdi: %d"
3. Danish translators can easily make a translation by "språkvask" of the already existing Norwegian translation. Norwegian translators of Openoffice.org are partly using Danish translations as basis for the Norwegian translation, i presume it can also work the other way around
4. regarding credits: i for one would like to use full name and email address as i would like to get feedback on my translations from users. (babalzilla does not have a system for crediting translators and providing means for direct feedback to translators as far as i know

Thanks for the hints...
1. good ide. done.
2. sorry. forget it. "Init Pref Value" should not have been there in the first place, and will be removed.
4. no problem, will do!

Translator for Croatian (please consider using hr instead)

Hi Henrik & others!

Croatian version is done, and should be set on "testing" (no idea how to do that, any sugestions?)

I'm not able to test it, since I use german Thunderbird and phone. Should be tested by someone with croatian mobile phone. I'll se what I can do.

Since Serbian and Bosnian are almost identical, i'll also make this translations.

German translation is comming soon.

Greetings,
Dino

Hi,

in first place welcome! biggrin.gif
Sorry if I didn't completely understand your request. If you're looking for an "HowTo" about the testing phase, please read this.
In case the doubt was inherent to who can change the status of the translation, please read this other Q & A!

Hi,

in first place thanks for being patient, since I didn't completely understand!
Well, you may find a few info about how to change the status of the translation here!
(Another really brief Q & A wink.gif )
I hope it can be helpful for you.

Have a nice day,
