Hello Ian
Spanish locale finished and tested, available in WTS
Luana
Hi Ian
I already translated alto this your extension, and I uploaded the Italian localization in the WTS smile.gif

Please, could you add the localized description also here ? tongue.gif wink.gif
Many many thanks in advance
victory
cool! i like this :-D
btw, if mouse cursor go out from the area and button goes released, it should qualify as dropped, i think.
Malorkus
I updated it with localized extension description now. Thanks for everyone who contributed so far.

MatrixIsAllOver, local description for GeckoTIP is coming soon too, in the next update (along with some additional new strings to translate).

I updated it with localized extension description now. Thanks for everyone who contributed so far.

The updated Italian localization can be grabbed as usual from the WTS biggrin.gif
In the Italian Description translation I added "per le pagine web" (In English, "Enable for web pages Adobe Acrobat-style grab and...")
Please, let me know if you agree, otherwise I'll remove this adding !

[Perhaps OT]
I downloaded the last version (0.9.8) and my localization
I simply opened the xpi file and inserted in the it-IT locale the properties file
I installed the extension, but after the restart of FF I receveid "error in the chrome structure..." huh.gif
Well, in order to test the localization I created a copy of the previous version, then I changed the inner n° version to "0.9.8 test" tongue.gif , replaced the grabanddrag.js in defaults\preferences and added the properties file in my locale folder (for the description)
The localized description works fine biggrin.gif
[/Perhaps OT]

I do agree my original description is a little vague, but I purposely avoided saying something like "webpage" in it since it's also a Thunderbird and Sunbird extension. If you can suggest a good, concise way to improve the description I'm all ears smile.gif

I think the error message was because I accidentally wrote the wrong code for ja-JP (I used jp-JP) in the install.rdf file.

Mmm sad.gif
I fear it could become too long (?) unsure.gif
May I do some test, think about this "question", then propose some description later ?

Checked, changed, installed ...it works biggrin.gif
It was so simple !
I'm too complicated (created a copy of the previous version, changed n° version, etc etc...) laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
Please, forget it tongue.gif

If I can suggest, why not:

"Permette lo scorrimento e il bloccaggio delle pagine con lo stile tipico di Adobe Acrobat"

in english it is similar to this...

"It allows the scrolling and the blocking of the pages with the style typical of Acrobat Adobe "

"Page" in italian is a generic word, and could be good for Firefox but for Thunderbird and Sunbird too.

I'm sorry, but the description I chosen it's different from your
Thanks anyway for the suggestion, but I think I won't use it

page is not correct/complete about ThunderBird
Thanksk anyway also for this suggestion

victory, I think the system dropped you from being the ja-JP translator because of my earlier mixup labelling it as jp-JP and then fixing it (that's a tricky locale name; you'd think both would be the same abbreviation..) So you might need to reregister yourself as the Japanese translator. Also, thanks for your input on the extension. You're right, I am going to count moving the mouse cursor outside the window as a mouseup in the next release.

By the way, I'm crediting translators under the "contributors" label in the install.rdf file, which shows up in the extension's "about" page. If you want your real name instead of just your babelzilla handle, please provide it smile.gif

Also, there's going to be one more update in the next day or two, and then probably no more new strings for a while. Thanks again for everyone who helps translate smile.gif

Batuhan,

Did you start the tr-TR translation yet? I just uploaded a new version of Grab and Drag and now I don't see it; I hope the system didn't erase all your work just because I didn't have it in the new file I uploaded... Goofy, is there a way to retrieve it?

I registered as translator for your extension and finished translation yesterday, but now I realize that the extension is no longer in "manage my translations" list and all my work has gone! And unfortunately I did all my work on WTS, and did not download the files! unsure.gif

If there is no way to retrieve it, I may translate it again but I will need some time.
batuhancetin
I translated the extension again and hope there won't be anything like that again.
I also downloaded the locale files for any unforeseen problems. wink.gif
victory
done wink.gif
btw, what is '-' right of Extension Enabled checkbox
Malorkus
Batuhan, sorry for the problem. The site should keep older versions' translations around so this doesn't happen, but I guess its still a new site huh.gif From now on I'll check carefully before potentially overwriting something.

victory, I don't know what that is, but for some reason it appears because the checkbox doesn't have a label (which always appears to the right of the box). I prefered an unassociated label so I could put it above the box instead. Guess its a weird quirk of Mozilla...
Goofy
@ batuhancetin we are very sorry for this episode. sad.gif
Up to now, when an author updates his extension and submits again with all the locales he already has in hand, these locales are still there with his new upload. But when a locale is not 100% done or not on the "released" status (I don't know if it was the case, I just mention) then the locale is not taken into account and "lost" apparently (not available in the new submission). There can also be another kind of problem, we are still in beta phase, Ptit Lutin and Fenian are cleaning the code and debugging in the background
--On the other hand, neither me nor tech admin were connected when your problem occurred (it was late in the night for european time) so we could not react as requested. But you should not have translated again dry.gif , because Fenian can grab the previous version back in the WTS database on request (just send a PM) and give it back to you.

-- in any case, considering the incident, every translator is invited to have a local copy of his work each time a significant work is done
Malorkus
Goofy, my Chinese translator, rupert.li, says the encoding of the dtd file created by the site for the Chinese locales isn't working correctly. The encoding of Unicode characters in the "&####;" format seems to work for him but UTF-8 doesn't. Anyone else have trouble with the Chinese locales? For now I'm converting the site's Chinese locales to the "&####;" format before packaging them.
Luana
Italian updated localization can be grabbed as usual from the WTS

About the encoding question, this is a problem still alive sad.gif

Hmm... this seems like a different issue; The thread you linked to is only a problem for .properties files, it says, while this is a problem with only .dtd files... Maybe its related though?
Luana

Probably this is a related situation, but I'm not sure at all sad.gif

I signalled the above situation in the same linked Thread

No problem, I understand, the time was late for me, too (at about 5.00 am). But I couldn't sleep, and translated it smile.gif
If it happens again, I will send a PM to Fenian wink.gif

Goofy, I saw you're trying to recruit new French translators for my extension. Any luck? I was hoping to release the latest Grab and Drag 1.0 in the next day or two and all the translators for other locales seem to be done. Should I wait for a French translation before releasing it, or just include fr-FR in the next release after 1.0.0?
Goofy
smile.gif Option two.

Please release now, it is OK.
It is not a problem of course to find "usual" french translator(s) for your nice extension (it is not very long to translate nor difficult), but I was trying to propose a new coming "beginner" translator to do it (with our help if necessary), just to initiate. So he/she will take a little long time and the translation will be ready for another release.

- I hope you understand. Thank you for your concern smile.gif

Maybe I could try translate this extension.

As far as I know, translators are supposed to write locale file under the encoding environment of UTF-8

If you download the extension directly from this site, does the zh-TW locale work properly for you? Rupert says it's not working for him..

Serge, I think the problem is that you used double quotes in your translation. Can you change them to single quotes and we'll try again?

Goofy, maybe the site should check for this kind of thing and automatically correct it?

Yes of course - already reported

Serge, I updated the Grab and Drag file on MozDev but it takes them a couple of hours for it to take effect (and I didn't change the version number b/c this was such a small fix). In a couple of hours from this post, try and see if the de-DE locale is working.
Malorkus
Oh, and Goofy, I don't seem to be getting tracking emails anymore from this topic even though the board says I'm subscribed... is it possible that there's a bug in the forum code someplace?
Serge
Bingo, it 's working biggrin.gif
