I updated the extension and I have accidentally lost french translation... (was only at 2% so i hope this won't be a disaster ) ...so sorry about that. Added localized description to extension.
BTW, I didn't expect to see all the pre-existing translators disappear from WTS after an upload. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here.. Is there any way to re-upload an extension when there are localizations in progress without the nightmare of loosing all the translators settings? I tried to download the zipped locales and insert them into the new xpi I uploaded.. but it didn't work, as WTS fills not completed locales with english translations.. so a 2% in progress becomes a 100%..

Yes Steffoz, you were right to insert all the already-existing locales (even when not complete).
But as you can see on this bit from our Help Q&A guide :

you also have to add one line per locale in the chrome manifest file of the extension.

When you repackaged the xpi file by adding the various localizations, did you remember to 'update' also install.rdf and chrome.manifest files?
Please note that the WTS parses those files, and if they are not containing all the strings inherent to the present localizations, obviously the WTS won't be able to register the missing strings

Makes it a bit difficult to understand (for me, at least)...

addurl.dtd is not relevant and should be removed.. all his strings are present in dta.dtd. sorry about that.

Hi,
I just started with the Dutch (nl-NL) translation.
I don't think you missed something: the NON-translated parts of each translation is now filled with the original english strings. That's why WTS says 100%. The translator just needs to replace the english string with his own text.

No problem, you did nothing wrong. It seems you have filled every other locale with english strings to translate, which is a kind concern for translators...
But we prefer you leave the other locales as they are (without new strings), because the WTS automatically recognizes new/modified strings in the en-US locale and creates "blank" textarea zones to be filled in every other locale. moreover, there is a handy yellow background that allows us to spot immediately where to translate, as can be seen on this example image from another extension :

Hi Stefano, on BabelZilla. I end translation to Polish this new version and I have some remarks about extension. Still are some phrases in *.xul and *.js file which should be translated:

1. about.xul all phrases should be moved to about.dtd file - see attached file
2. addurl.xul phrases in line 88, 92 - line 88 is not obligatory translated but 'URL' in Polish language should be translated to 'Adres URL'
3. down.xul phrases in line 66-68 - these used keys in some languages not matching to the translated phrase
4. dta.xul phrases in line 97, 111, 165-166 - see point 2 and 3 (acceskey)
5. filters.js phrases in line 177, 181
6. info.xul phrase in line 84
7. renamingmask.xul phrases in line 39, 72 not changed to entity code
8. string.js phrase in line 285
9. barra.xul phrases in line 24, 26, 30, 33 - this names should (if translator want) translated - I want
10. menu.xul phrases in line 20, 21, 26, 27 - names, and 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 - acceskey- this names and adequate acceskey should (if translator want) translated - I want
11. saveas.xul phrases in line 22, 24- this names should (if translator want) translated - I want

Please correct these inconveniences.

i agree with numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. we want dta and oneclickdta to be universal. and we also want the license to remain in english.

Licence text OK, but Copyrirght, version, Privacy, information about icons, warranty, homepage ... should be translated.

And now next portions of my remarks - not all, will be next:

1. Not working delete filters
2. Not working Privacy link in the about window
3. mainPane.xul - in line 45 add align="center"
4. filtersPane.xul - in lines 47, 50, 53 add align="center"
5. filtersPane.js phrases in line188, 204, 209, 226, 229 should be translated
6. interfacePane.xul line 61 should be translated - I made also litle changes in layout
7. privaPane.xul - in line 42 add align="center"
8. advPane.xul - in lines 32, 52 add align="center" line 36 should be translated.

Changed files (only *.xul) are in the attached fil, without code for Tools Menu.
(Old attachment has been removed)

And next portion of my remarks:

1. dta.xul lines 129, 135, 139 - not changed phrases to entity code, line 129 - should be translated
2. dta.js lines 616 and 658-664 - should be translated
3. dialog.xul - in line add align="center"

In this time that's all. Now I'm waiting for your opinion.

Hmm.. Seems like there is a problem with the preferences panel's dimensions here.
If you open the preferences from the download window, the panel is resizable and
everything shows up fine.
However, if you open it from the extension's manager, it has a fixed size and some
options are not visible. I've noticed that in the previous version as well.

Another issue i've run into so far: In the selection window some strings are not parsed
right and i can't tell why, they seem to be translated ok in the locale files but i get symbols
and english text for them( The bad encoding is allready reported but i can't see why i get
english text - see screenshot)

I reported about bug with bad encobing in this textbox - see my post above. Please attach your locale. I check these english words.

I think it was obvious that i noticed your post Anyway, el-gr.tar attached

@steffoz: Apart from the bug found by Sergyes (as described above in this thread) which is not related to the locations, Spanish (es-ES) locale for 0.9.9.0 is ready for release. But I would strongly recommend you a couple of strings to be translated - I do not know if they are already included in Teo's list, I get lost when trying to look into xul files - although I can understand your effort trying to localize a so complex extension plenty of scattered strings and menus. The two strings are:

- in the "About" window, the "Close this window" label of the button. EVen if you do not want to translate the licence and the rest of the stuff in the window, please think that some people do not know the meaning of "Close".

- in the "Downloads" window the message "Do you like DTA? Why your friends shouldn't? Help us grow!. It looks like a bit absurd to show a promotional message if the user cannot understand it.

el-GR released ! I've been waiting to translate this extension,
since it's one of my favorites!
And i have to agree with the above comment, a promotional
message has no meaning if the target audience can not
understand it, plus, i really beleive that the "about" panel
should be translated as well!. It's fine with me if the GNU
license is in english (so far i only know of an UNOFFICIAL
translation in my language anyway) but i hope you'll look
into this in future releases.

German locale is set to released in WTS.

Swedish locale is about ready. I just need to adjust a couple of things... But why are there so many strings that don't get translated?... And as Sergey mentionned, when right-clicking on a link to download with dTa the URL doesn't "make it" to the window and it is there impossible to download...

EDIT: oh... I see the language problem was reported by Sonickydon... I see exactly the same strings in english...

In the about... window, close button should be in locale language...

the about window should be ENTIRELY in locale language..hopefully it will in next version/s..

Anybody experienced troubles when trying to save on teh desktop with dTa!OneClick? It keeps telling me that the desktop isn't a valid destination folder and in the destination dialog there is no desktop to choose... (I can choose by browsing to it C:\Application Data\xxxx\Dektop but it won't allow me to save there...)

The locale is set (bg-BG), but the Preferences window doesn't show up for some reason. Atually only parts of it show up, and others flash as if trying to show up but can't.

We uploaded the latest version of dTa. All the troubles with encoding should be fixed. We've also added a few phrases to translate.
You'll have to wait a little to localize the about window

hmmm.. I've added the new strings in the locale..but i can't see them.. Are you sure you've uploaded the xpi right? cause the one i got from babelzilla in order to test the locale has the exact same problems with the previous, plus there's no sound options somewhere.

I can see the sound option... but the translation problems (many strings don't get translated) remain . But the bug with the conte xt menu "save link with" dialog is solved!

Steffoz: I discovered a couple of stupid typos in my locales so I re-uploaded the files! Just to let you know... please update the extension!
