I provided the previous official Italian localization, and I'll add that new one asap through the WTS
Wladimir Palant
Thanks, I'm still getting used to how things work here.
Dagobert_78
Hi.

I have sent a message to Jojaba, the french (fr-FR) translator for the previous version

Polish locale is ready.
Luana
Italian localization is ready, it can be grabbed from the WTS cool.gif
Jonas
Lithuanian translation is already completed and can be downloaded via WTS.
Wladimir Palant
My thanks to everybody translating. I have uploaded a development build with all the locales that have been released so far, see here: http://p2.forumforfree.com/-vp2828-adblockplus.html#2828

Edit: Added a few locales I missed out.

- Added locales: de-DE, pl-PL, it-IT, tr-TR, ja, li-LI, fi-FI, es-ES

Actually lithuanian locale is called lt-LT, not li-LI smile.gif
Wladimir Palant
Oops... Fixed, thanks smile.gif
Luana
Wladimir, I noticed that in Adblock Plus 0.6.0.4+ there isn't the localized description tongue.gif
Well, could you add it please.gif ?
Thanks in advance
Wladimir Palant
Yep, Premier (Japanese translator) already noted this as well. I'll add this, but this will have to happen after 0.6.1 is released (need to find a better description first anyway).
Luana

I'll add this

Well, in case you're looking for suggestions, and if you agree, we translators could also propose here some ideas biggrin.gif

Ok, this is my 'funny' suggestion (based on the options/settings) laugh.gif
Choose the elements to filter and say goodbye to ads and banner

What do you think? tongue.gif
Wladimir Palant
Somewhat too wordy I think. How about:
"Ads were yesterday!"
smile.gif

Btw: it seems that Adblock Plus 0.6.1 is going live on Sunday evening or Monday morning (GMT). Last chance to get translations in wink.gif

Romanian translation tested with ok and duly released.
Wladimir Palant
Wow, access keys must be hard... I've been doing basic testing of the locales and I found access key conflicts in 8 out of 10 finished translations (including one of my own and Japanese that AFAICT only had this one access key different from en-US). Ok, testing Romanian now, my Romanian lessons were quite a while ago...

Edit: Make that 9 out of 11

Hi Wladimir,

may I ask who's responsible for the German translation of the new version of Adblock Plus? It seems to have vastly improved compared to former versions, so I'm curious. wink.gif

And, I have to admit, I'd like to propose a slight improvement for the naming of the contextmenu entries. So is there any chance to get in contact with the current translator?

Thanks,
Oliver
Wladimir Palant
Thanks for the praise, I'm doing this translation myself smile.gif

There is some discussion on the naming of menu items here: http://www.firefox-browser.de/forum/viewto...p=231314#231314

2. Optionen-Menü
a ) "Statusleiste" schreibt sich in Fx DE durchgehend ohne Bindestrich
Hm.... Was denkst du?

Oliver

PS@all:
Sorry for this German interlude, but it felt somewhat strange to write in English here when talking about a German topic to someone who knows German. wink.gif

[Edit]
Oops, used the wrong account to write this reply. Sorry for any confusion this might cause huh.gif

Auch im Rumänisch kann man "Adblock" nicht als Verb nutzen. Für meine Übersetzung habe ich das einfaches Verb hinzugefügt (z.B. "Adblock: [...] blockieren").
Wladimir Palant
ultravioletu: That's three translations (de, ru and ro) that do it this way then: "Adblock: block image". And a few dropped the word "Adblock" from the context menu alltogether. I think the first should be the prefered way of translating the context menu and the other translations need to be adjusted (unless "Adblock" really can be used as a verb in the language).
Wladimir Palant
hit the wrong button, sorry

Mmm...
Just as example, I also excluded "Adblock" (as noun) and used the word as a verb, because in the Italian language isn't so much logical to read "Adblock: block ****"
So, in order to use however the name of the extension, may I invert and interpret in the Italian localization the position of "Adblock"?
Practical example: Block *********** with Adblock Plus
Please, let me know
Thanks
Wladimir Palant
I was considering leaving this "Adblock" out completely but ReinekeFux objected that users should see where these context menu items come from - and I think he is right. Guess "Block *********** with Adblock Plus" would do as well.

Exactly, I used your same initial concept smile.gif

Good thing
Well, later I'll "improve" the existing Italian localization present in the WTS cool.gif

Wladimir Palant
Well, with Adblock Plus 0.6.1 released there is no hurry smile.gif
(waiting for AMO to approve the release)
Teboga
pt-BR translation released, it seems a little late though tongue.gif

I hope the access keys are working at least smile.gif

Great extension, congratulations
Teboga.
Wladimir Palant
Well, they are working smile.gif

I uploaded a single-language build for pt-BR (see http://adblockplus.mozdev.org/installation_localized.html), it should hit the mirrors in a few hours. However, it is too late to update the multilingual version.

Thanks for translating.

An Italian proverb says: "make hay while the sun shines" wink.gif
So, before I forget that I had to improve the localization (it could happen rolleyes.gif ), I did it

Italian localization now is 'complete', it can be grabbed from the WTS
asteko
Turkish (tr-TR) translation has been released.

I hope Adblock 0.6.1 is updated with up-to-date translation.
Wladimir Palant
I've uploaded 0.6.1+, this was only to synchronize my CVS with WTS - no string changes there yet. Btw, how is it usually done - should I upload a current development build whenever I do some string changes or is it better to upload before an actual release when nothing will change any more?

A few languages are shown at 99% now despite of full translations - is it because some strings are same as for the English version?

@asteko: I've updated the single-language build (http://adblockplus.mozdev.org/installation_localized.html, will be on the mirrors in a few hours). As to the multilingual download - this will have to wait until the next release.
Wladimir Palant
I uploaded what should become Adblock Plus 0.6.1.1 soon. Translation-wise there are only the following changes in global.properties:

extensions.{d10d0bf8-f5b5-c8b4-a8b2-2b9879e08c5d}.description - that's the localized description for the extension. Now "ads were yesterday" might be difficult or awkward to translate in some languages. For that reason I chose "Say 'no' to ads!" for the Russian translation - I think that can be used for other translations as well where the original phrase can't be used.

status_disabled_tooltip - now advising to middle-click (that probably will be "click with the middle mouse button" in all languages except English)

toolbar_active_tooltip and toolbar_disabled_tooltip - new strings for the toolbar button tooltip. toolbar_disabled_tooltip should usually be the same as status_disabled_tooltip.

I choose "les publicités, c'est du passé !" without discussion so it could (should) change.
translated by 'ads, it's past time" with a little effect of rhyme. biggrin.gif

But, this is Jojaba who will decide when its connexion problems ends.
Jacen
Slovak (sk-SK) translation has been updated. smile.gif
Wladimir Palant
@Jacen: I think you should copy text from toolbar_disabled_tooltip into status_disabled_tooltip - other than that looks good, thanks.
Akilles
I updated the Finnish locale. Can be grabbed from WTS as usual.

Edit: I also used this kind expression in description: "Ads are in the past!"
asteko
Turkish (tr-TR) locale has been updated for 0.6.1.1.

I translated extention description in this fashion: "Ads are left to the past."

Adopted! biggrin.gif
Thanks for the localized description
And about it, the Italian rules about the localization say "Use an indirect style", so I applied it: "Allows to say 'no' to ads!"
I also added for more comprehension in the Italian description, after ads, 'presenti nelle pagine web' (In English 'ads (that are) present in the web pages')
So, in case you think this 'addition' isn't necessary, feel free to remove it smile.gif

Italian localization is ready, it can be grabbed as usual from the WTS
