Croatian localization has been tested, uploaded and released biggrin.gif

There are some untranslated items in Options window.
(Address of web site, Remove Site, Remove All Sites)
Also: 'Please enter a valid hostname' (when unvalid hostname is entered)
Please, can you make them translateable?

You can change options window by changing this item in autoswitcher.dtd:
window.style
width: 38.5em;height:42em;
(mine is width: 35em;height:35em;)

Thanks. I already tried that, but didn't realize that the entity itself didn't need translation. I put back the original English words and the standard values are now fine. ops.gif

Those strings aren't my invention but are directly from the Firefox devs (see e.g. Cookie Exceptions). I made the dialog look very similar since they all do similar things. Since I didn't change the wording I thought I can use the strings already provided by Firefox in order to make translations easier/faster plus have at least part localized for everyone even though Autoswitcher doesn't ship his/her language.
The snippets used in the options window can be found here:
chrome://browser/locale/preferences/permissions.dtd (View Source to see the contents)
The alert message asking for a valid url can be found here:
chrome://browser/locale/preferences/preferences.properties

So, I guess you're using an English version of Firefox. If you'd switch to Croatian those strings would switch as well smile.gif

Thanks for your locales,
Greetings

French (fr-FR) translation released !

I've tried to insert "\n\r" in the desc.main, to have a clean 'visual' description, but I saw "\n\r" instead of carriage return in the description. Can you do some changes ?

rolleyes.gif fyi
desc.main entity refers to a xul file, you can use \n\r in javascript, not in xul files.
[Solution is probably 2 or 3 different description lines in the xul --> 2 or 3 diff locale entities]

I saw this sequence in some translate files.. certainly for a messagebox and not a standard text.

smile.gif Yes it is quite possible you saw that in a .properties file (because it includes variables to be used in a content/*.js file wink.gif

Use
QUOTE
blabla<html:br/>blabla

instead. It will not work yet because I still need to add the html namespace (it will give you a yellow window with red text).
Please note once you changed the locale so I only have to repack once and can publish it immediately on my page with the new locales (and I'll reupload here, so other's can benefit from this change).

French (fr-FR) translation updated & released.

2 remarks :

1/ In babelzilla, your extension file is without ".xpi" extension (Dictionary. instead of Dictionary.xpi)
2/ For Firefox 2, version 0.1 is > than 0.1a, so it download version 0.1 at startup blink.gif . Maybe you can use numerical values for version (0.2 instead of 0.1a).

1: I have no idea how that happened, I uploaded it again, hoping that is is fixed by now. I can't influence how babelzilla handles the naming :/
2: Fixed smile.gif

zh-TW released and done^^

Thanks for all those locales, I'm going to add them when I've got more times on my hand. I'm talking with Dao to merge Dictionary Switcher and Dictionary Autoswitcher instead of developing two very similar extensions.
If so, it's very likely that new locales will be needed (and this extension removed, to avoid translators translate a no longer developed extension).
But well, I shouldn't be saying things I don't know for sure yet myself ^^

Need some help with translating on the "Web Translation System" I can't recognize some word I need to translate;

IPB Image

Like you can see "Don't switch" and "exclude.accesskey
c
" and "window.style
width: 38.5em;height:42em;
" are not properly or is it?!?

Please help me...! please.gif
markh
I have posted a link to your cry for help on the Danish BabelZillian forum, but on some things I might be able to help you. rolleyes.gif

The ''' string is HTML code for an apostrophe, or a " ' ". The complete entity actually says 'Don't switch'.
The accesskey you need to enter (c in en-US) refers to a character in the word 'Exclude'. In your case, pick a character in the translation for that (but make sure there are no double entries with other accesskeys wink.gif )
You can specify the height and width of the window with you last question. If these default values display improperly (just copy-paste the original value for this - do not translate the wording) then you may want to play with the values to get a window that is suitable.

Good luck!

How do I test it ?

QUOTE(RuM_ @ Jan 25 2007, 21:15) [snapback]24688[/snapback]

How do I test it ?

Download your locale files in a tar.gz file and download the xpi. Open the xpi, adjust chrome.manifest and/or install.rdf and insert your locale directory into the locale folder. Close the xpi and install it into the application, restart and check whether everything looks OK! cool.gif

That's all. This a short version of the way how to do it. A far better description (by Goofy) can be found here.
RuM_
I have really tryed, but when i test it, it has problems in my browser, so something is done wrong.

First I extract the "Dictionary.xpi" in a folder, then i extract "Dictionary_Autoswitcher__locales.tar.gz" to a folder with WinZip.

Then I open "chrome.manifest" and "install.rdf" with notepad and add a similar line with da-DK instead

Then save, and then I add a new zip folder with the edited files and locales folder within and safe it as it was before "Dictionary.xpi".

When I load it I got errors and can't use it?!

Could someone help me please.gif

markh
I think you are doing way too much! Just open both files with a zip-like program (I use WinRAR, but most programs will do). You already have chrome.manifest and install.rdf edited, so just drag and drop these to the opened xpi, so that you overwrite the existing files with the ones you edited. Then go to the locale folder in the xpi. This is usually within a jar file in the chrome folder, but can also be directly in this folder. It is in a jar in this case, so extract this from the xpi and open it with the same zip program. Once in the locale folder, just drag and drop your complete folder (called da-DK) from the tar.gz file to the locale folder to add it to the other locales (after this you can close the tar.gz file). Exit the jar file and drag it to the chrome folder in the xpi, so that it overwrites the existing jar file. Now you can close the xpi, and you're set for testing! cool.gif

If it still doesn't work, drop me PM or an e-mail.

Today v. 0.8.1 was released without updating here on BZ.
There is one new entry in the switch.xul file:
CODE
<menuitem id="dictionary-switcher-as-i-type"
            label="Detect dictionary as I type (EXPERIMENTAL)"
            type="checkbox"
            oncommand="dictionarySwitcher.toggleAsIType()"/>

which should be put in the locale file switch.dtd.
