Hi, and thanks for uploading another interesting extension of yours! rolleyes.gif

Hello, as for the other extension, there are problems with the help html file (somehow in the file I uploaded still there are two lines of the original version)

In attach you will find the right one wink.gif

And so, the it-IT localization is ready and working in the WTS.

Got the locale. Thanks! Also picked up the Help file from your post. I will be releasing a version 0.6 fairly quickly. I hope that when I do so I do not hose up your work.

The next version of the WTS wil support HTML files better, but for now we have to do with uploading them to the board. Here's the Dutch version:

I have removed all the unneccessary blank lines so the total translation says 48%, but in fact the translation is complete wink.gif

The Dutch locale has gone into testing, which unfortunately I cannot do right now dry.gif

Hi,

Is there any change in the new version uploaded today (or is it just for inclusion of es-ES ?) ?

David, there is a mistake in install.rdf for the Dutch locale: it says nl=NL instead of nl-NL. Please correct this; I have re-registered as translator and updated the locale (now in Testing/Qa). wink.gif

Thanks for picking that up. I am not sure when I fat-fingered that. I look forward to your translation. Cheers!

Nico, I tried to send this as a personal message but I am told your mailbox is full. You might want to look into that. I was not aware of any limit. Anyhow, I include the message below in hopes that you will see this. Thanks!

===== Original Message ======

Hi Nico and thanks for your translation of ThunderPlunger. I recognize that the system seems to foul-up the HTML page translations sometimes and I do not know why. So I have made a habit of checking those pages when they come in. The page I got with your translation has some English at the bottom. I am not sure if this was the result of the translation system or not. Could you please send me your original and I will include it? Thanks.]

Hi,

fr-FR is still in testing/QA status, as I'm awaiting the French BZ review on this translation (this should not take more than one or two days). However, you can find a correct version of this file here, but as the rest of the translation, it may change a bit with the suggestions from the other French translators.
nico@nc
Released now, help.html (in an archive as html files can not be attached on the board) attached to this message.

Hi Nico and thanks. For some reason, at 8:04am and again at 9:08am today I got messages from the system saying that the French translations had been released. I see from you note and online that they are still in Q/A. No worries. But I wonder why I got those two messages.

Dutch locale updated, tested and released cool.gif

As usual, the WTS has crippled help.html, so please use the attached file:

By the way, never mind the WTS progress meter which says 35% for the nl-NL locale; it's all there. I guess it's due to the html file.

Alright, Polish translation finished. I've also noticed that in chrome.manifest there's
CODE
locale      thunderplunger    nl=NL chrome/locale/nl-NL/

See the "=" between nl and NL in the third column? Isn't it supposed to be a dash?

Hello and thanks. I have sent a private message on your localization. Markh made me aware of my manifest screwup and I will fix it. Thanks.

I look forward to your response to my private message. Again, thanks.

Hello David,

The Italian translation is released, just don't forget to change the html file with the one I attach (the WTS is not very subtle in treating html files).

closedeyes.gif No, Underpass is right, please attach your html file here otherwise teh WTS will trim it unfortunately (the upload process is ok but when downloading back your file you will see there are missing bits at the bottom, most likely)

Hello everyone and thanks for your help with my addon. I am still pretty much a newbie at the WTS so maybe you can tell me the best way to proceed with this...

I recently got some user feedback that caused me to make some minor but important changes to version 0.8 of ThunderPlunger which I recently submitted to the WTS and for which all but one active localization has already been released.

These changes only impact the help.html file (as far as localizations go). In the section related to the Remove From Address Books function, the text:

You simply right-click on any email address shown in a message's header area and choose the menu item "Remove From Address Books" that ThunderPlunger has added to the popup menu.

has been changed to:

You simply right-click on any email address link shown in a message and choose the menu item "Remove From Address Books" that ThunderPlunger has added to the popup menu.

So my question is, what is the best way to get this change propagated into the localizations? I know this must be a pain because (a) these were all just completed and (b) the WTS doesn't always handle html files with ease. But I think the change is important to have in place. Should I just re-upload version 0.8? Or should I roll the revision to 0.81 (or something like that)? I don't want to do anything that will hose-up the work already done on version 0.8.

Thanks for your suggestions and sorry for the bother.

smile.gif If the only change for translators is this sentence in html file, the simplest thing to do is:
1. attach here below the "new" html file. Don't submit it on the WTs which unfortunately cannot handle html wihout damaging one bit at the bottom...
2. Get you list of translators in the "my extensions" page of the wts and send them a short message with a pm asking them to attach their "new" (with small sentence change) html file here on this very topic.

Per instructions, below, I have attached the new, slightly changed help.html file for Thunderplunger 0.8. I hate to ask but I hope that all translators for this addon can make the change shown above and post their revisions here. I will get them and work them into the release. Thanks again, David

Hi all,

David, I'm sorry: only today I've had enough time to read the topic entirely - I've been without home connection for more than two weeks.

I made the correction to the file as proposed in

Thank you - I hope to be more present in the future

Hello David

First of all, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :D

Speaking of ThunderPlunger, I noticed an odd behaviour in the new "Validate email address" function.
I will describe it:

1) create a new card with name "Foo" and email address "foo@foo.org"

2) perform the validation of the entire address book - Foo will be detected as "suspect"

3) if I choose not to delete the card and dismiss the windows by pressing the OK button (note that the checkbox is NOT selected)

then it is displayed the confirmation dialog.

4) Pressing Ok will delete the card from the address book even if it was not marked to be deleted

Hi Simon and thanks for the report. I just tried this myself. I do get the confirmation dialog that should not be shown as no cards are checked. But my card does NOT get deleted. Are you SURE that your card got deleted from the address book?

David

Hi David,

I tried with a new "Test" card (test@test.org) and I can confirm the deletion of the card (this time I got an "operation time out" error).

Hope I'm not spoiling your Chtistmas Holidays...

edit:

ahem... another "side effect": I chose to show even the correct results... And ALL OF THEM GOT DELETED... surprise.gif

Dutch locale updated, but I need to do some work on help.html so it will remain in Testing/QA for now. Would it make sense to convert the html file to an xhtml file and localize it? Goofy has written a short tutorial on how to do this...

Thanks Mark, that is a GREAT idea. I should have thought of this myself. I think I am a little late for this in the current release of ThunderPlunger. But I will do this for the next releases of my two addons (ThunderbirdBiff and ThunderPlunger). Thanks to you, to Goofy, and to all the amazing folks on BZ. I still cannot quite get over how great it is to work with you all. Happy holidays,

Holy Crap! I am so sorry about the "side effect". My testing was obviously very weak. I just found the awful error and have fixed it.

Attention Everyone: I have attached a new version of the file validateEmailAddressDialog.xul to this posting. Note that I had to change its extension as XUL files cannot be uploaded. Once installed, this fixes this problem. Download the attached .zip file extract validateEmailAddressDialog.xul, and replace the file you now have installed at [Thunderbird Profile Dir]/extensions/{bfec0750-aa6f-11db-abbd-0800200c9a66}/chrome/content/. Please accept my apologies. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Don't even mention it!

I did my test with a "battle" profile, which I just use to localize extensions... ;)

I'm glad you fixed it... I'll try and let you know.

Got it! Thanks Mark.

Please be aware that in the next release of this addon, I will be following the suggestions made earlier on this forum and will be using Goofy's tutorial for localizing the pesky help.html file. It should make this process much easier for all. I apologize to all translators for not having done this sooner. I have already completed this process for the ThunderbirdBiff help file which most of you have worked on as well. Happy holidays.
Goofy
