Did I make a mistake in the submission? This should be under Multi-Application, since it works with SeaMonkey, Thunderbird, and Sunbird as well.

I does not seem so, perhaps the localized tags in install.rdf (which I believe should open with <em:localized> rather than just <localized>) have somehow disturbed the parsing process. I will move this topic to the correct forum and amend the top post.

The dtd file was not parsed correctly. I have corrected the file and uploaded a new version, but since the WTS ‘remembers’ old strings one string is still displayed (no name, is replaced by string welcomepara2). Perhaps a new upload will do the trick; do not forget to include any work already done, otherwise that will be lost.

Only if the extension manager namespace is assigned to the "em" prefix ("xmlns:em=..."), as opposed to being the default ("xmlns=..."). Technically, I could assign just about any prefix(es) I want and Moz's XML/RDF code would be fine with it (and if you look at the RDF files it generates, you can see the conventional assignments are more readable). I assigned them the way I did to try to improve readability, but I guess BZ's parser is a little touchy about these things, so I will stick to what it expects. Same for the localization files.

Nope, I found the real cause. There needs to be a separate targetApplication for each application.

XPInstall is pretty forgiving, it seems. Anyway, I've submitted an update, and now it's showing all four apps.

Now, there's just one other problem: all locales are showing as 100%, even though two of them don't actually have all the translations. I tried both with blank strings and with the entities and properties skipped. Do I have to do a major update to clear those?

Major update is only a flag for sending an update notification to translators. If you have uploaded with blank strings first and then with empty strings skipped, this is logical; as the WTS ‘remembers’ previous entries the blank strings will still show.

Dear Daniel,

first thank you for your work and this very usefull extension.

Lastly I am facing a problem with this extension.

Has you can see on the following capture, the window of the extension is too small then I can not access to all the fields nor to the "show password" button :

It would not be a problem if we could change the size of the window, but it is not possible in this case.

I run Firefox 3.6 (in French)

Let me know if you need more information

Hmm. You must have upgraded from a much earlier version, judging by the size differential. That or you initially edited something other than a web form login. But no matter, it's definitely a bug in this extension.

Ah, I apologize. I do most of the testing on Linux; here the window is resizable. But Windows dialogs are not resizable by default. I'll look into it right away. In the meantime, try the following:

Find the file "<your Firefox profile>\extensions\savedpasswordeditor@daniel.dawson\chrome\content\pwdmgrOverlay.js"

(On XP, the profile should be at "C:\Documents and Settings\<your username>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<something>" where <something> is partly randomized. I don't have access to other versions of Windows at this time, so I can't be sure where it is for you.)

Locate the two calls to window.openDialog() (there are two of them close to each other). In each one, change

"centerscreen,dependent,dialog,chrome,modal"

to read

"centerscreen,dependent,dialog,chrome,modal,resizable"

Save and restart Firefox. Hopefully you should be able to resize the window at that point. I'll test this out and get a fix in. The above should help you out until the update goes up. Thanks for letting me know about this.

1.5 is up on AMO, awaiting review.

FYI, I made some internal changes to 1.5 after updating here (for instance, I moved the first-run code into a component so it only runs at app startup, instead of every time a browser window opens; plus, it allowed me to show the welcome page on Thunderbird), but I'm still calling it 1.5, so if you just happened to be using the BZ version, you'll have to update manually if you want the "official release". You don't have to, though; what you have already should work fine.

this is not translation-related, but I couldn't find anywhere else to comment on the Saved Password Editor extension, so here goes.

I think you recently added the "clone" button, which could be useful when multiple systems share a single login (e.g., a forum, a wiki, a blog, etc.) Once the login is saved for one site, I could simply go to the login window for one of the other sites, click clone and then "guess from current page" to make the password work for the other site as well. However, currently the SPE extension clears the username and password fields when clicking "guess from current page" (or copies the empty values from the page, perhaps). This means I can't use clone for this and I'll have to manually copy the username and password instead.

Any chance you could not clear (or copy from the page) the username and password fields? Perhaps only copy them when they are non-empty?

May I suggest you send your enquiry to the developer through a PM? As you observer correctly, this thread is intended for translation issues, and support requests are generally not responded to.

In the future, please use the email link which you find on the details page for this add-on on AMO (it's near the upper-right corner, under "Need help with this add-on?"). In fact, you should look for web site and/or email links for all add-ons for support. You could also PM me here on BZ. It's not a good idea to use this thread, since it's supposed to be about translation; plus, I don't always get notified about posts on threads I'm subscribed to for some reason. But I always see PM notices and emails.

Anyway, the "Guess from current page" button actually does copy whatever is in the username and password fields, even if it's empty. Thanks for your suggestion; I have changed it so it only copies the fields if the password field is non-empty.

Version 2.0 is now up on AMO, awaiting review. Unfortunately, despite my efforts, not all locales are complete and properly translated; for those strings that were not updated I have filled in the original English, not something I like to do, but I think it's better than withdrawing those locales because of a handful of missing strings. Hopefully they can be corrected, but I won't be reuploading it on AMO for a little while. Thanks to the majority who did come through on this.

(It's not to be confused with the Firefox menu on Mac OS, which normally has a menu named after the app.) Mozilla Support has an article about the menus where you can see what it looks like on your OS (outdated, but good enough for our purposes). I think, the best name for this is Firefox button or Firefox menu button. It's default color is orange. It is not default on all Windowses. In Windows XP the menu bar is still default.

Upper Sorbian locale (hsb-DE) has been released. The locale description for install.rdf is:

Additionally I give you the Esperanto (eo) locale description. The Esperanto translation is already part of the latest version of SPE.

Detta tillägg låter dig ange data manuellt i lösenordshanterarens databas, så att du inte behöver förlita dig på att Firefox, Thunderbird, SeaMonkey och andra program skall göra det åt dig. Du kan även redigera befintliga poster. För webbformulär ser den typiska användningen ut på följande sätt:

1. Navigera till sidan som innehåller inloggningsformuläret.
2. Öppna Sparade lösenord (detta tillägg lägger till Verktyg > Sparade lösenord samt en verktygsfältsknapp som ger snabb åtkomst till dialogen ifråga).
3. Klicka på "Nytt" (eller, om du har en befintlig post du vill hantera, markera den och klicka på "Redigera" (för att ändra den) eller "Klona" (för att skapa en ny post baserad på den befintliga posten)).
4. Ange all data som krävs och klicka sedan på "OK". I nästan alla fall kommer knappen "Gissa utifrån aktuell sida" att ta hand om allting utom användarnamn och lösenord. Verktygstips tillhandahålls om du skulle behöva dem.
5. Uppdatera sidan eller kom tillbaka till den senare. Om formuläret inte fylls i automatiskt, så har det antagligen deklarerats som autofyll="av". Försök att klicka två gånger i användarnamnfältet och gör ditt val i rullgardinslistan. Det finns en video som demonstrerar den här lösningen.

@ddawson: you uploaded (probably accidentally) an xpi with only the en-US locale files included. Please upload a new one with all locale files included!
