With the new WTF, I'm unsure if ...

Hi biggrin.gif
Please, may you uplod 'again' your extension, but through the WTS ? wink.gif
Thanks in advance

ADDED:
Please, when before you upload the xpi file, may you check that the xpi file contains all the locales ?
And may you check the completeness and the correctness of the install.rdf and chrome.manifest files?
Thanks again

Hmmm ...

I tried uploading the extension on WTF, but get an error message:
CODE
Uploading backtotop-3.0beta1.xpi OK
Extracting backtotop-3.0beta1.xpi OK
Parsing install.rdf OK
Updatecheck  Previous version found
Backup of previous version OK
Scanning for existing locales FAILED
Looking for locales inside chrome.manifest FAILED
Extracting .jar OK
Adding to WTS FAILED

The WTS could not detect "en-US" locale.
At least "en-US" locale is required to make the WTS work properly.

Please contact the Admin Team.

I do have the locale mentioned in the install.rdf file:
CODE
<RDF:Description RDF:about="urn:mozilla:extension:file:backtotop.jar"
                  em:package="content/"
                  em:skin="skin/"
                  em:locale="locale/en-US/" />

but WTF doesn't seem to recognize it. I am not using a chrome.manifest for this extension (although it is suggested, it is not required).

Any suggestions?

Please, may you try to replace
CODE
em:locale="locale/en-US/" />

with
CODE
<em:locale>locale/en-US/</em:locale>
?

Ah, please.gif , may you include in the xpi file all the locale folders you already have in hand up to now ?
Thanks

OK, I've changed the install.rdf back to the old style and it uploaded to WTF just fine.

I only have the en-US locale for this new release. The previous release .dtd files are not compatable whith this new version. I can include them here if you need them.

Chuck,
there is something strange mellow.gif
I'm testing my translation, and I noticed a series of alerts like the following one dry.gif

every time I open the browser or a page is loaded

Is this a normal behavior?
Please, may you move these "debug-strings" in the locale folders ? rolleyes.gif

Just two other small things:
pallete = palette ? tongue.gif
And seriously, when I try to change the color of BackToTop icon in the status bar (via Options window), the "OK" button seems to be working, but the color remains the same sad.gif

Hmmm ... I think you are getting the error because you don't have the icons showing in the toolbar. If you click View > Toolbars > Customize... and drag the Back to top and Go to bottom icons to somehwere on the toolbar, this should get rid of the error. Thanks for pointing that out (thank goodness for beta releases! wink.gif ). Actually, that error message is generated in the javascript portion of the extension where I don't have the luxury of using entities to translate text. Of course, you shouldn't really be getting those messages anyway.

Yes ... ops.gif someday I will learn how to spell correctly.

Not sure about that one ... Let's see if it goes away when you put the icons in the toolbar.

Thanks for your help!

I know it is boring, but you can localize strings in the .js too

Chuzo, I noticed that the contents.rdf file has not been translated to Spanish. Could you fix that?

Thanks!
