smile.gif hello and welcomeani.gif

It seems there has been a problem with your submission because the locale files are not available the way they should.
As I cannot see anything strange in your xpi, I suggest you should submit again after having removed the brackets in your extension name. It is maybe the reason why our WTS did not what he was supposed to.
Sorry for the annoyance

smile.gif also, though of minor importance, I see a certain number of old or empty files that should be removed from your xpi rolleyes.gif

It's something wrong with this extension in the WTS. I see only 'Download all locales as tar.gz-file' link and this link is empty.

laugh.gif Yes I mentioned it on my previous post.

I confirm the brackets in the file name are responsible for the annoyance. I have tested the submission of the extension without brackets on the testsite, and everything was ok.
So we are just waiting for the developer to submit again the way I suggested smile.gif

The upload has now been successful, so.....

Welcome! welcomeani.gif

Just a bit of information for you: in case you have some queries about the WTS, you can find short and simple Questions&Answers about it here!

In case you're looking for a specific translator, please see the list of available translators on BabelZilla.
When you select the desired one, you can send him/her a P.M. or an e-mail (if and when public).

You may also insert a new Topic in the Help Section, in order to ask for specific translations, to write a general request about missing translations, etc.
While the bankers all get their bonuses I’ll just get along with what I’ve got

Thanks! I appreciate the help - looks like it was the brackets that caused the problem. Note that this isn't a real release, but is stable enough for translating.

This is a great site. I'm looking forward to the translations rolling in!

Thanks for the translations - I'll release the updated extension in the next few days.

In the meantime, I've posted the text of the addons.mozilla.org webpage in a different topic. Please take a look if you are able to help with this translation.

Thanks again!
Pete

Hi peteburgers,
I'm Polish translator your extension and after tests I have some remarks:
1. Extension saved to tmp directory pages with bad encoding - don't write properly international characters
2. Mix headers (original and extension information) - see attached screenshot
3. 'Update Scanner' from 'alert.xul' file (line 23) should be translated

  • Attached File  us2.png   50.23KB   4 downloads

Unfortunately at the moment Update Scanner only supports Unicode (UTF-8) encoding when saving pages. The page you attached is ISO-8859-2:
CODE
...
<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-2" />
...

For an example of a UTF-8 encoded Polish page, try http://www.google.pl/firefox - this should work. A future version will detect the type of encoding and save the files accordingly, but at the moment it just assumes UTF-8, since this seems the most common and inclusive international encoding.
QUOTE
2. Mix headers (original and extension information) - see attached screenshot

I've worked out how to fix this by adding a <div style="position:relative"> below the Update Scanner header. I'll fix this soon - thanks for showing me this!
QUOTE
3. 'Update Scanner' from 'alert.xul' file (line 23) should be translated

I'm not sure about this - the extension's name is "Update Scanner", so I thought it best to keep this name in English. On the amo website, the extension is always called "Update Scanner", no matter which language the page is translated into. To give an example, what is the Polish name of the browser you're using - Firefox or Ogień-Lis? (please forgive my Polish). Opinions on this would be appreciated though.

Thanks very much for your thoughts Teo.

Unfortunately some of the translators got unregistered by this. I've restored the ones mentioned in this 3D, and will try to recover some more tomorrow (hey, it's getting late over here wink.gif)

Ok, that seems to have fixed it. A few things:
  • Since I have deleted some strings, some of the files are misreading the percentage complete (up to 145%!). Make sure you check through each file to see if there are any yellow boxes.
  • Anything you see inside "{}" leave as it is. This text will be substituted by the javascript code. This should make the grammer more flexible for some translations.
  • Sorry for those translators who's names have reverted to "Unknown Translator" - that was my fault for not updating the manifest file
  • This release is still not fully tested, so please let me know if you see anything strange...

Please let me know if you have any problems

Thanks,
Pete

Hmhm, I was only able to restore the Hungarian translator dry.gif . The other ones either haven't posted here or are not listed in install.rdf.
@peteburgers: you should have received an email for every translator who registered. If you have kept those, could you send me the IDs of the ones that are still unregistered?
