smile.gif There is a little annoying thing in your submission: the very long base64 converted image is unnecessarily in the locale files, because er... there is nothing to translate here rolleyes.gif (just the default button image I suppose) and it is quite useless for translators to copy the long long stuff and paste it. I suggest you remove it from the locale and leave it in the content part

+1 on Goofy's remark; it makes the screens pretty cluttered. I have added, tested and released the Dutch locale cool.gif (well, I already did it, so it wasn't that much work). A remark on the About window though: its width is not limited, so it takes up more than my screen width which is 1024 pixels. See screenshot; could you please correct this?

Sorry for the annoying image it will be removed. It was convenient at the time. Now it uselessly duplicates a long string. Sorry. This is my first attempt at seeking a translation. As you are aware I've still lots to learn.

NOTE: Translators need not include this image in the future.

I seem to be unable to update my extension???
CODE
This form only accepts the following MIME-types: application/x-xpinstall, application/x-zip-compressed

Uploading custom_buttons-2.0.5.7.1-fx-mf.xpi    OK
Extracting custom_buttons-2.0.5.7.1-fx-mf.xpi    OK
Parsing install.rdf    FAILED
OK
Updatecheck     Previous version found
Your ID:4976 - in DB:2069
Upload failed. You are not authorized to update the extension

It seems I've run afoul of your install.rdf parsing.
  1. Our Extension is a team effort (em:creator="Custom Buttons Forum Development Group")
  2. Thus SCClockDr is not the specific "creator".
  3. I am the primary coder/author BUT
      Authorized Authors are:
    1. SCClockDr
    2. m435tr0d
    3. jw25
  4. The others may not yet be registered users here BUT when registered would be fully authorized team members.
Please direct me to the proper solution to this issue. Thanks

Will do

FYI -- I can re-structure my submission to comply with your parsing standards because I create the install.rdf on the fly during the build.
Initially I will still need to break in to start that process. So I'll await your instructions Thanks.

unsure.gif From I what I can see in the backend there is no reason why you should not be authorized to submit. You are duly identified as SCClockDr, dev for this extension with id number 4976.

Last time there was a prob with update there was something unusual in the install.rdf. Would you please attach it here so that we can give a look, something in maybe choked the wts parser.

---- about various members of your dev team.
We are sorry but we cannot have multiple dev access but only one. If each of you three want to share and be able to update, just create a new account "CustomButtonsDevTeam" or something like that, share the password, and tell me, I will then change in the backend the "permission" for this extension update from SCClockDr to whatever you wish.

Attempting to Attach . Says I am not Authorized to upload that type now trying install.rdf.txt. Appears successful.

I have given a look

I can see various potential sources of trouble (trying to guess, not sure)

1. the
CODE
²
in the ext name, try and change it for a plain 2 at this place.

2. (very likely) the install.rdf parser does not like to fall upon http addresses
CODE
All of the users at "http://forum.mozilla.ru": useful remarks and testing, and
All of the users at "http://custombuttons.phpbbnow.com/index.php": useful remarks encouragement and testing"
All of the users at "http://custombuttons2.com/forum/index.php": useful remarks encouragement and testing"

3. I am not sure this part
CODE
RDF:about="rdf:#$GFNKb3"

is recognized as OK (though I have seen several extensions having this kind of stuff)

4. I am uncertain whether em:developer is recognized in the current wts version (our next version will parse things much better according to coming FF3.* specs.)

My conclusion is : try to build the install.rdf in more usual way. I don't mean it is incorrect, just troublemaking for the WTS

rolleyes.gif Please skip the previous probably silly observations except this one :

In this version of the install.rdf you have set http addresses between " " in the developer em. As it is the main diff with your previous submission, I suspect the problem is there.

[edit] I see clearly looking into the file with pspad colored syntax that there is something wrong in these quotation marks, because they sort of "override" the FINAL quotation mark for the em

You are quite correct I just sent the rdf through W3C's validater it failed on those quotes they've been removed. Trying again.

The updated version wiped out the partial translations that were submitted against the original.
Was that due to me not including the partial translations or might it be the folder structure ie. ...\locale\en-US\custombuttons\... vs ...\locale\en-US\...
Is it common for the partial translations to get dumped?
Do I need to maintain a branch dedicated to locales with the partials included?
How is this generally managed?

biggrin.gif
a very common error for newbie developers submitting here...
You should have included previous already existing translations, even when uncomplete, in your new submission.
Please read that item
http://www.babelzilla.org/index.php?option...7&Itemid=25

This problem (which is a limitation of our current wts) will not be present in the next WTS version currently cooking on our testsiste.

Now translator may pick their previous work in this zipped pack I downloaded today at 16:49 Paris hour and reupload everything in one shot. Note to translators : remove the long now useless codelines for images out of the .properties before uploading it

An Updated version is now available with the partial translations included. Please verify I've done it correctly.

happy.gif everything looks fine. @newcomers: please don't trust the progressmeter whatever it may display, it is notoriously not trustworthy [I suspect our Tech Admin just leave it because we have fun with it, when it displays optimistic info such as "178% done"]

Hi All
    Uploaded version 2.0.5.7.3.
    One string added:
    to: Custombuttons.properties
    line: 19
InitCodeReplaceWith=Replace with call of your choice

markh I'll release this latest version as soon as you include the latest string and finish QA.
    Thanks for getting me started!
Other Translators: Thanks for your contributions. As you release your translations I'll update the version here for QA. Then submit to our forum for our testers to hammer before release to Addons.
To All The version submitted here is unique to this forum and may differ with other releases in features/functions. Addons will have the latest official release.
My ultimate aim is to pin the versions submitted here to the latest stable Addons version. So the mods from that version only reflect locale updates and string mods.
