Here's the el-GR files. Sorry for the delay again and i hope i've followed your instructions about renaming folders right smile.gif.
And now the killer question: How can we test the translation without installing php server and mysql?
I'd like to submit the translation to the greek oss community for a review but i'd like to see if everything fits in place first.

Thanks a lot !
I installed your work on my locale test site. Everything seems to be alright (except a little accesskey problem in the Manager) except the theme translation. You probably made an encoding mistake (it must be UTF-8 encoded).

I will try to reinstall the website (an older version of plume should work but you won't see all the translated items) so you can see for parts to improve. I will do my best, be patient please.

Thanks

"News" means here a "recent information" (like in the newspaper). It's not a plural here. I'll give you an example :
"Have you heard the news" should be translated in French "Avez-vous entendu la(singular) nouvelle ?"
I guess, if you agree with what I said, what I must keep is :
CODE
;See the news
Δείτε την είδηση

Is that correct ?

It looks fine to me.
I guessed that since i noticed the french translation, so i added the string (i'm not fluent in french but i do get the basics).
Just keep in mint that both the string and the example you used ARE plural in english - but i'm not going to use my ulitmate weapon of mass destruction this time! biggrin.gif

I looked in a dictionnary and they talked about "a news". Sorry for the example but I didn't find something less morbid :

Yes, sorry for that, proofreading side effect, i thought i had checked every file for that but i guess i missed this one
It's not right in the new zip? there's two files there, plume.lang(updated shortcut) and the default.lang file (encoded in utf-8 this time) Should i upload all the files again?

Well, try here wink.gif

As I said earlier, this is not the latest version in developpment. We are overdue for releasing the new 1.2.3 version, but I hope that we will release it before Christmas.

Thanks again for your hard work smile.gif

It looks ok as far as i can see..
I just noticed that some accesskeys are displayed after the word (like "visualize [v]") but i guess that's the default behaviour, right?
Another thing i noticed is that you can add blank redirects in the smart 404 page, is it because it's an old version or did you missed that one?

No that's not the right behaviour, but this older version doesn't support accesskey localisation. On the new release you will see : "Οπτικοποίηση [Ο]" if all works fine.

I transmitted your feedback to the developpers. As soon as have an answer, I will write it down here. Thanks wink.gif

I'll try to work on the help files asap though i don't have a clue right now on how should i translate the wiki-inline.html file smile.gif

I just noticed a couple of problems on the "add a comment" interface.
See attached picture:
1)
The CMS turns line 79 of default.lang ("Add a comment") into uppercase. That's something that can't work with Greek.
We use accents for non capital letters only. If there's more strings that are displayed with uppercase i have to know it in
order to fix them. (note that there must be different strings for capitals and non capitals in case the same string is displayed
in both cases).

2)
The greek string for email is "Διεύθυνση ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου" . I guess that's too long for the interface and it breaks the form.
The shortest form of it that i can provide is "Διεύθυνση ηλ. ταχυδρομείου" which i don't think that would help a lot in this case..
most likely it will also break the form. It could also be the string "Απαιτούμενη αλλά χωρίς να εμφανίζεται" which can turn into
"Απαιτούμενη - δεν εμφανίζεται" in order to save some space.

I attach here the updated version of default.lang and install.lang (fixed a typo) as well.
Please note again that line 79 displays right only in uppercase. However if it has to be displayed in lowercase too it's better to use this one.
Lowercase words without accents look better than uppercase with accents.

I changed the style in css file so that the "add comment" title always displays in lowercase. i'm not sure I had to upload the file you provide here unsure.gif

In post #43 i had attached a zip file including two files, one of them was plume.lang which had the accesskey right.
I'm attaching it again along with an updated default.lang file. Please use the latest files.

There's a small change in default.lang file so please use that one as well.
If i have guessed right, line 18 of default.lang is used before the date in comment1 of the attached picture.
In that case the string can't be "The" in english. It has to be "On"

About the "add a comment" dialog, the uppercase string looks ok now but the dialog still looks broken, see comment2 in the attached picture

I added some strings in the plume.lang file so your plume.lang file was outdated. In attachment the updated file.
What the default.lang file belongs, one string is missing, Iadded it too (see attachment). thanks to translate it.

Could you provide a smaller translation for E-mail ? It is too long, that's why you have this disturbance on the comments window.

Replaced "The" by "On". thanks a lot ! smile.gif

I know that it's the "email" string that causes the problem but that's how it is translated usualy.
For this case i have turned it to "Δειύθυνση email", if that is not good enough again, the only other
solution would be to skip the greek word and use only the english word for it.
It would be the lesser evil so feel free to delete the greek word from string 87 in case it doesn't fit again smile.gif

I couldn't find a new string to translate in plume.lang, is that right?
in case it's not, please give me the line numbers to trace the new strings.
(it would be so much easier for all of us if we had to handle .po files...)

No the new string is in the default file. For the email string, I will try to find a solution in changing the style in the css. I let you know when it's done.

I'm not sure it was the best way to handle this problem. Anyway, the style of a template can be modified to fit to each language needs...
