Hello all,

I'm releasing a new version of my extension that has already been translated into Dutch. I have two new strings I need translated. One is in a normal dtd file, but the other is a sentence I'd like to add to an html file, and I'd rather just ask for it here, rather than having someone re-translate the entire file because they didn't notice it's been translated before.

The two sentences I need are:

This extension has created a Firefox profile and installed a helper extension.

Would you like to delete the "Private Browsing" Firefox profile?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Jason

Here you go:

Deze extensie heeft een Firefoxprofiel gecreëerd en een hulpextensie geïnstalleerd.
Wilt u het Firefoxprofiel “Privénavigatie” verwijderen?

For consistency and proper spelling, I would go for

I am OK with ‘aangemaakt’ instead of ‘gecreëerd’ (even though they can both be used), but a dash is preferably avoided in my book.

Using ‘aanmaken’ instead of ‘creëren’ was discussed and agreed upon some years ago, therefore you’ll notice ‘creëren’ is avoided in Dutch Mozilla l10n when possible. It should actually be added to the (heavily outdated) Mozilla-vertaalwoordenboek.

Spelling rules, l10n agreements and Mozilla translations until now require us to not use self-created nouns, or rather, compound words that carry brandnames without dashes, like ‘Mozillaprofiel’, ‘Firefoxbrowser’, ‘Thunderbirdgebruiker’ (brr…) etc. I suggest you (well, every extension developer/translator in fact) stick(s) to that in order to keep consistency and prevent comments.
