One more information:

It seems BabelZilla can't handle XPIs with included _locales/JSON files, which are necessary for Thunderbird 68+. So it is not possilbe to have a complete working addon, when downloading the XPI here from BabelZilla after working on the locale strings. You've to download the addon from the relating GitLab repository (Zip → rename to XPI) and merge it with your updated locale strings, to be able to test it in Thunderbird. At the moment the addon use most strings out of the *.dtd and *.properties files. From the *.json files only the extension name and extension description is (mandatory) used.
