QUOTE(Goofy @ Dec 4 2005, 17:32)
It is letter o and not zero....That is why I made things clearer for french users.

I'll clear this on request.

The official en-US and my translation (ja-JP) uses zero for reset page zoom. It is natural, because it is same as the default Firefox key bindings for text zoom.

On my prospect, English and Japanese users, who uses en-US locale of Firefox with standard US keyboard and ja-JP locale with Japanese keyboard, repectively, don't have the problem. The problem is that pressing Alt+zero on main keyboard or Alt+zero on numpad don't reset page zoom. So it is defined alt+0 (zero) for them.

However, other people, who use their locales of Firefox and thier language/country-specific keyboard layouts, may find the problem as follows:

1) Some cannot reset it with Alt+0 (zero) on the main keyboard.

In some keyboard layout, 0 (zero) only can be typed with Shift ot Maj key. For them, you need to type Alt+Shift+0 (zero). It is somewhat painful and confusing (users may think it is unusable for themselves).

2) Some cannot reset it with Alt+0 (zero) on the numpad.

In some keyboard or environment, Alt+num0 (numpad zerp) just does not work. I don't know why, at present, but one possible reason is it is conflicting with Alt+number method in Windows (type 4 digits on numpad with Alt to get a European-specific letter).

These problem above is language- or country-specific, as my understanding, and I cannot do much for them because my resource is restricted. I only maintain the official en-US (as I am the author of PageZoom) and ja-JP (as I am the translator for it) locales.

For other locales, it is up to the translators. If you (a translator) find the problem above in your environment, you can change the key binding to reasonable alternative for your locale people. You can achieve it by modifying the entry in pagezoom.dtd. If you cannot decide what key is appropriate, you can leave it as default (same as en-US locale).

One demonstration: As for U.S. keyboards, "+" can be typed "=" with shift key, PageZoom also defines Alt+"=" for an alternative of Alt+"+" (+ and = for zoom in). For standard Japanese keyboards, "=" is replaced by ";" so that ";" is defined for the second keybinding (+ and ; for zoom in), which conforms the text zoom keybindings of official Japanese localization of the Mozilla Firefox itself.

Any other questions, comments or requests for clarifications?

By the way, PageZoom 0.2.2 is released public.
It is available on my page: http://www.memb.jp/~...zilla/pagezoom/
It will be also available on addons.mozilla.org after it gets approval by an editor.

Additions.

I believe that Goofy found Alt+O (letter o) will be better for French users. Please read the discussion earlier in this topic.

Maybe, the Alt modifier with number or signs was a bad selection. sad.gif I think it is better to have an alternative for each commands, like Shift+Control(accel)+i/o/r. Do you have any suggestions?

Anyway, PageZoom will have toolbar buttons for the functions in the next release. I hope it will make the problem little uncritical.

Another addition. mellow.gif

In the pagezoom.dtd in WTS, text "& #037;" is unwantedly converted to "%".

For example, the original text

<!ENTITY options.percent "& #037;">

is shown like:

options.percent

%

where "%" should be "& #037;". This makes me bother, as in the all dtd files I need to replace them by hand. sad.gif

This is a bug already filed: http://www.babelzill...p?showtopic=988

You translators don't need to do anything about this. Just a notification for admins! smile.gif I hope this bug is fixed by the time of my new release...

P.S. oh, I also cannot write "& #037;" directly here (I added a space after & to be shown).

I've uploaded PageZoom 0.3.0, whose locale is almost entirely different from the previous version 0.2.2.

Lacking of my knowledge to deal with WTS, it seems that I lost the former translators association with the extension. Please rejoin me! ;-)

Any comments are welcome.

Ok, I've rejoined, as I was kicked, too. huh.gif
One question though before transferring the new translation:
Where are those lines (pagezoom.dtd, lines 14-16) located in the GUI, I can't find them anywhere:
CODE
<!ENTITY menus.tooltipZoomAt.before "Zoom at ">
<!ENTITY menus.tooltipZoomAt.after "">
<!ENTITY menus.percent "%">

ReinekeFux: I will add you as name "ReinekeFux" for the contributor list. If you prefer another name please let me know.

Note: If you are testing with Firefox 1.0.*, the xpi I've uploaded is somewhat buggy. The bugs are mainly around display and not critical, though, I'll re-upload the bugfix version if you request.

WTS!~~~ blink.gif
Hi, deq
There are lot of problems with WTS!
1, I still can not save ZERO in WTS, so I choose upload my translation.
2, After the uploading, I found the WTS changed the Chinese Character into hash-hash, whatever online or download to my computer, and the Translation Status shows over 100% , so I chosse edit online.
3, After I saved my translation online, I found I lost my ZERO! ranting2.gif

BTW, there are still 3 SAME links of PageZoom on my WTS dashboard.

So, here is my translation which I had attched. Please download it.

Pew, finally managed to bring the final version of the German locale to the WTS.
Checked it, "Zero" seems to be ok (at least when uploading).

I don't think you should worry about that particular thing WTS tells you! smile.gif
As far as I had a look at it and tested with it, your locale has no major problems (I cannot read the Turkish though), but there are just two minor things:

1) As the extension description was changed for en-US locale, it is encouraged for you to change the the value of "extensions.{eeb299da-31d8-4683-aad4-9c9a045e0351}.description" in the pagezoom.properties file. It is no longer bound to use Alt+(+-0) keys, thus that part of description text was removed.

2) I noticed that you have not changed the accesskeys. Is it usual for Turkish? (I just wonder)

I replaced the accesskeys.
As I told before, I am a little busy, I could spend only a few minutes for translation sad.gif

Again thanks for warnings, please tell me if something else goes wrong wink.gif
