Hi all,
I am the author of iCalendar Plus, which is a calendar extension to the windows vista / 7 sidebar. The gadget is of course open source.
Can you guys help me by translating this gadget in as many languages as possible?

The file with labels is included in this topic. Just replace the english strings with the correct translations.
Languages I allready have:
-English (obiously)
-Dutch
-French (Goofy)
-German (rau360)
-Czech (freeloc)
-Polish (teo)
-Serbian (DakSrbija)
-Spanish (urko)
-Italian (m4dbra1n)
-Chinese (simplified) (Jiane)

Thanks in advance,

Mark

Thanks guys! Incredible how fast you reacted surprise.gif .
@rau: that's ok. Thanks again.
@Goofy: I translated that extension. I choose the 'nl-NL'-locale, what is the difference between 'nl-NL' and 'nl'? Should I have choosen 'nl'? Also: this was my first translation. Are translations normally checked by an other translator?

Firefox will accept both, but generally ‘nl-NL’ is still used here. FF works with ‘nl’, but since it is also possible to have ‘nl-BE’ I always stick to ‘nl-NL’. Two observations:
1. you only translated one of the two files
2. You might want to consider using the Dutch Glossary and looking at this topic. Some of your translations are not standard; I will send you corrected files through PM for you to compare and learn wink.gif
While the bankers all get their bonuses I’ll just get along with what I’ve got

I don't know how it works with FF etc extensions but with the vista gadgets it works as follows:
-It checks for the full locale, for example "nl-BE"
-If not available it checks for the language, in this case "nl"
This would mean that if you did include "nl-NL', but not 'nl-BE' it would use english instead.

I meant to say that I finished the dutch translation.

Thanks! biggrin.gif I can't promise to become a regular translator, though. It's not really something for me. unsure.gif

FF knows only nl, but when looking for locale files it also takes your local settings into consideration. So, when you live in Belgium it will try to find an nl-BE locale, but if not present, it will select the closest one, usually being nl-NL.

That’s what I meant as well. The locale contains two files wink.gif Check the PM I sent you.

Serbian (Српски) translation is done!
There are two codes for Serbian language: sr-Cyrl-CS and sr-Latn-CS , so include them both.

See attached Spanish version.

But I would like to have previously tested the locale, specially in order to check there is not any problem regarding the Spanish term length (English terms and sentences usually are shorter).

Thanks urko.
I didn't expect anyone to test the locales. Therefore I tested all the locales myself. The longer terms aren't a problem.
The only thing that isn't perfect is that there are 2 buttons in the settings dialog which don't fit on one line with certain languages. I don't think this is really a problem. I attached a picture of this.
The settings dialog can't be made wider, because it is allready the max width.

Once again I would like to thank all translators. My gadget is online since 3 days, and is allready downloaded more than 1000 times. biggrin.gif

smile.gif Ok there is a tiny little thing to fix regiarding French version: there must be a space (& n b s p) before the ":" It should be:
Fichiers :
Identifiant :
Mot de passe :
Statut :

Also in correct French it should be "Fichiers ICalendar :" instead of the reverse I suggest you integrate the colon in the strings to translate, so that translators can choose to add a space or not (I am afraid this convention is needed for French only) And of course you could present the translator the full string "I calendar files" so thay can organize translation the way it should be for every lang smile.gif

Interesting. I didn't know that.

Actually I knew that. I don't know why I didn't just include the 'iCalendar' part in the string unsure.gif .

I updated the language files to include the ':' and include the 'iCalendar' part.
