Please see on this message for new "work" on translation. [2008/07/07 edition]

Hello translators smile.gif

I'm working on the updating of the plume CMS localisation. Some translations were already provided but since the last release of Plume (1.2.*), not complete. I really like this simple CMS (if you don't know what a Content Management System is, see the explanations on wikipédia), I use it for my personal Website. Less features but light-weight and therefore fast and complying with standard XHTML coding.

Some informations :
  • Official Website of Plume CMS
  • Download page
  • Forum
  • Demonstration site
The discussions about the developpment and help for that CMS are on a Google group. This type of forum is very useful when you don't have enough time to manage it but is not really adapted for updating or providing translation. So I post here (with Fenian aknowledgment) the files.

Translation request.

First of all you must know, if you want to translate the 2 files included in the zip file below, that the encoding is UTF-8 (We are used to work with it here, aren't we). Here is the beginning of one of the files, you will immediately understand how to translate :
CODE
# -*- coding: utf-8 -*-
# (C) 2004 Loïc d'Anterroches
# Translator: ................... (2007)

;There is an error with your login or your password.
Il y a une erreur dans votre identifiant ou votre mot de passe.

;Login:
Identifiant :

;Password:
Mot de passe :

;Ok
Ok

The strings after the "#" are comments, the strings after the ";" are the original strings and just under them you have to provide the translation. Please don't add additional lines. That's all. Easy isn't it ?

Translation of the Manager
Well let's go to the main point, the files to translate. As I said, some languages were already provided but must be completed : de, es, ru and sk. Here are the files to download (I left the lines to translate in French) :
  • German translation : (Done by Fenian - thanks a lot !)
  • Spanish translation : (please translate the lines from 928 to 1281 in the plume.lang file and from 374 to 450 in the install.lang file)
  • Russian translation : (Done by funalien - thanks a lot !)
  • Slovak translation : (Done by Slovaksoft - thanks a lot !)
  • Greek translation : (Done by Sonickydon - thanks a lot !)
  • If you want to provide another translation, please use the following archive : (after translation please rename the xx folder using the iso-code of your country)

Translation of the Tools
In addition of the Manager Funktions, Some Tools are provided (to manage the links, the 404 errors, the configuration, ...). The files contains less lines wink.gif.
  • German translation : (Done by Fenian - thanks a lot !)
  • Spanish translation : (only the visualedit.lang file must be translated)
  • Russian translation : (all the files must be translated)
  • Slovak translation : (Done by Slovaksoft - thanks a lot !)
  • Greek translation : (Done by Sonickydon - thanks a lot !)
  • If you want to provide another translation, please use the following archive : (after translation please rename the xx in the zip file name using the iso-code of your country)

Translation of the Default Theme
The default theme of Plume CMS were localized just a few days ago. The file contains a few lines.
  • German translation : (ich habe versucht es selber zu machen aber ihr müsstet daß überprüfen wink.gif )
  • Spanish translation :
  • Russian translation : (Done by funalien - thanks a lot !)
  • Slovak translation : (Done by Slovaksoft - thanks a lot !)
  • Greek translation : (Done by Sonickydon - thanks a lot !)
  • If you want to provide another translation, please use the following archive : (after translation please rename the xx folder using the iso-code of your country)

Translation of the Help files
Feel free to translate the Help files. For the moment sk, fr and en translations are available. Translate the english strings in the HTML files contained in the ZIP file I attach below. Remember that utf-8 must be the encoding.
  • Help Files :
  • Slovak proofreading : (Done by Slovaksoft - thanks a lot !)

Translation of the Welcome message on test site
On our test-site (http://plumecmstest.free.fr) we welcome our guests with a simple message. We would like to provide this message in all available languages of Plume CMS. Below, the *.php file to translate (encoding utf-8 as usual, please translate also the "alt" attribut of the link tag witch gives the country flag identity)
  • Welcome message:

In case you have questions, don't hesitate, and leave here a message.
Thanks in advance,
Jojaba

Just for information, we added a few strings into some lang files because of new functionnalitys. I will give this 3 or 4 strings later when some translators will release their work.

Great ! Thanks! smile.gif

Just a few remarks.

In the default.lang file (Default theme translation)

You did'nt translate the lines 18 and 24 ( ;The and ;by). You must know that if no translation is provided for a string, by default, the english string is inserted (here, "The" and "by" would be displayed). So if you only need to leave a space, please add the following code (without the space between the "&" and the "nbsp;") :

CODE
& nbsp;

Feel free to provide a symbol such as "-" or something else if you want to display this type of character wink.gif
As said in the previous message, we added a few new Features. One string was added to the default.lang file :
<a href="%s" title="Edit the resource">Edit</a>
Could you please give us a translation for it ? Thanks in advance. smile.gif

In the plume.lang file (Manager translation)

In line 360, you didn't translate "(/category/ or /cat/subcat/)" it's an path example so you can translate it wink.gif
In this file we also added a string for new feature : "Intermediate author". could you provide me the translation ?
You could leave the translation here in this post, I give you below a recall of the strings to translate :

QUOTE
default.lang : "The", "by" and "<a href="%s" title="Edit the resource">Edit</a>"
plume.lang : "(/category/ or /cat/subcat/)" and "Intermediate author"

Thanks in advance. As soon as this is fixed, I will upload your files to the test site so that you see it in action happy.gif

The default.lang file
Thanks, I didn't know what if no translation is provided for a string, the english string is displayed.
So, I've added the translation of this string "<a href="%s" title="Edit the resource">Edit</a>", and a non-brake space for "The", "by" , as you seggested:
CODE
&nbsp;

Attached File  PlumeCMS_default_theme_ru2.zip   1.69KB   1 downloads

The plume.lang file
The strings "(/category/ or /cat/subcat/)" and "Intermediate author" were translated.
Attached File  PlumeCMS_manager_ru2.zip   16.36KB   2 downloads

Can you say me please where should I put the default.lang file to use the default theme with translation on my server? smile.gif

If you use the 1.2.2 version of Plume CMS, the default theme is not localized. You should install the new version as soon as it is released (end of month if all goes well). I willl suggest you to wait for the moment. Thanks for your comprehension smile.gif

Sorry for that but just one more suggestion in the plume.lang files.
I saw you did'nt change the accesskeys. I would suggest you to change at least those who concerns the Main Menu labels. Here is the list of the avaible accesskeys (at the end of the file) :

QUOTE
# Accesskeys for Main Menu
##########################

# Content
;c
c

# Comments
;m
m

# Categories
;a
a

# Authors
;r
r

# Preferences
;f
f

# Tools
;t
t

# Sites
;e
e

# Help
;h
h

# Other accesskeys (not underlined)
###################################

# Logout
;o
o

# See the current site
;i
i

# Accesskey for submit buttons
##############################

# Visualize [v] => the [key] after line 190 must fit to the defined accesskey
;v
v

# Save [s] => the [key] after line 190 must fit to the defined accesskey
;s
s

# Transform in XHTML [x] => the [key] after line 190 must fit to the defined accesskey
;x
x

# Delete [d] => the [key] after line 190 must fit to the defined accesskey
;d
d

The main menu accesskeys are underlined in the menu label. For example, when you have the menu label "Preferences" with an accesskey set to "f", the word will be displayed "Preferences" in the Manager interface using the default display (english). If there is no "f" in the "Preferences" translation (that's the case in the russian translation) "Ссылки (f)" will be displayed. so it should be good to adjust this accesskey (only the main menu accesskeys should be done) and check if there is no duplicated accesskey (therefore I added all the accesskey at the end of the file, so that checking is much more easier).

You could change them, no problem, but be careful not to set duplicates keys and change the [keys] after line 190. for example, if you set the key h for "Transform in xhtml [x]" you must rename this "Transform in xhtml [h] and set the accesskey as below :

QUOTE
# Transform in XHTML [x] => the [key] after line 190 must fit to the defined accesskey
;x
h

I don't know if what i just wrote is clear enough... unsure.gif

Yes ! I just changed some accesskeys.
I don't know if you can handle the problem I saw (see the screenshot below) :
Attached File  ru_translation.png   8.11KB   8 downloads
It seems that the "at" is not localized (I will see if I can fix this).
In the date field there is a 1/2, I don't know if this comes from an encoding error. Can you check this ?

Hello again funalien.

I found in the plume.lang you provided this :
QUOTE
;Y/m/d \a\t H:i:s
г/м/д \a\t ч:м:с

The \a\t means in fact "at" ( for example "2007/11/18 at 22:18:12" ). Could you give me the translation of "at" (please, don't send me the whole file, just give me the translation, i will add it into the file).

Thanks in advance.

Do you plan to translate the Tools too ?
